List of Bot locations

I am taking the initiative here and rather than people making new threads all the time I'm making this one as of now to list the locations people have seen bots so it is easier to help the GM's when they do log into the game to get rid of them, and hopefully a moderator can help us out and sticky this post to keep it at the top.

I actually go out of my way to help the GM's when they log into the game to clean out the bots but I can only give them locations that I know of. So please post the following details if you see any bots:

Actually they do. I was going around helping a GM get rid of a bunch today. And I'll start this off with a spot i know of which is clean for now.

They are doing something but its like crime irl. The cops catch a few criminals, the rest of the criminals profit. There were/are just too many unlocked doors in the game.

Bots used to irritate me but now if I see bots, I just go around them. I log on to play the game, not to play being a cop or snitch.

Honestly, I think there needs to be a lot of separate threads. It provides marketing incentive for them to do more about it.

However much they are doing, it isn't enough. Not yet. There are still bot chains farming level 30+ zones. If they aren't banning the entire account they are wasting their and our time. I would not call that "doing something."

The other day in AD there were some level 3 characters grabbing nodes while hovering in the air in Grahtwood. They need to figure out how the botters are doing this and wipe them out.

I'm still all for account and IP bans for both hackers / bots and people who buy from them. Ban the custo,eers and that will speak volumes.

As far as xones, they are all over in both Auridon and Grahtwood. Just pick any place and stand there long enough.

Daggerfall Convenant, perhaps other factions as well, The Hollow City in Cold Harbour. Hundreds of level 3 chars running a fixed path over and over again.

I believe GMs are logging on periodically to delete bots. I got a system message the other day stating that a GM would be online for 15 minutes specifically to delete bots, and asking people to send a PM if they saw any.

I just found another location myself the other day and looks like we got some more so this makes it easier to know what areas for them to focus on. Thank you to those that have already posted some locations

These are very common places.

I would be interested in bot hunting, which I have done in other games, by the way. It would require a few players joining up to inspect 5-6 common places for botting activity.

Hunt the spawn, collect a few resources but mostly follow the bots reporting them. Having 2-3 people report a group of bots is always better than just one.

I would like to humbly suggest that there be a Dedicated GM Bot Killer in game at all times. They could even build incentive within the player community by granting achievements/Titles or in game vanity items (insert incentive idea here). I've played other MMO's where the community participated in helping refine an in game issue. The GM's actually created a unique item to identify and thank the players who helped. I personally would love to have Bots flagged for open world PvP so players could converge on them like a Dolmen or a public dungeon. We could loot the corpses (thereby getting the gold and items back into the community) before the GM's ban the accounts.

Just something I daydream about when I cant finish a quest due to these parasites farming my boss.

Really? I was on this morning (EU) and there were two archers (not sure what class, probably sorc) just insta-speeding from mob to mob killing everything over and over and over and over again. They were so fast I couldn't catch a name to report.

Good job if you got them.

I talked to a GM about this issue and he said the best way to report bots was through the in game report system. Moderators on these forums are mostly customer support/player relations staff and take no part in investigating and banning hackers.

Thanks all for the locations in coldharbour. I was there the other day trying to find some (daggerfall covenant) but without really knowing exactly where to look I couldn't do anything ...but now that I know they are in the village of the lost and cliffs of failure those areas can be checked the next time a GM is in game. Also thanks for the other locations too.
