Mannimarco is locking the game.

Mannimarco is locking the game, at least for mages. I am at level 48, can't find any monsters brigining experience in Bangkorai, so, basically, unless my mage can defeat Mannimarco, this game is a DEAD END! Indeed, killing Mannimarco is the obliged way, the SINGLE POINT of passage, to allow progress, but that is merely IMPOSSIBLE for mages. By the way, for mages, the quest levels is totally screwed: some quests are definitively too low level, too easy, for mage, at the announced level, but some, like Mannimarco, a level 40 almost unfeasible (totally unfeasible for me) for a mage, even for a level 48 mage.

I understand that being "hard" at some place could be ok, but when it kills the game progression, that is not a "game" anymore.

    Hey!

I have done him with a mage, too. And it is an fight of endurance.
First and most important: Interrupt his life leeching beam! You have to get close to him and then hold right mouse button and press left.

Get those crystal shards in one of the morphs for attacking him.
Then you need something to restore your life and mana: spell symmetry and critical surge if you have a high critical or dark conversion.
A familiar (clannfear) also is a good way, because he tanks.

All in all it is doable, if you know how. If all fails, ask someone to help you.
    Good luck.

I did it with my level 41 sorc, and let me tell you, it was tough. I died around 12 times, had to leave to repair, and then had to do it all over. however, some things really helped me.

1: have an interrupt: that channeling ability he does needs to be interrupted. (I used the poison arrow ability)

2: use food, I found max health or health regen helped a TON

3: kite those ghosts. ( I used magnum shot, but any knockback will work) don't try to aoe and run, you won't make it.

4: get as far out of the red circle as possible: being in the center is basically a death sentence

5: use fully charged auto attacks for the first 2-3 stages, you need the magica/stam for the ghosts and to nuke him after the 4th portal. Never drop below 40% resource until that stage. (and I'd save the storm atronarch for the last stage as well, but you can use sooner)

I will try your suggestions, which contains stuff I haven't tried. Note that this quest is SOLO-able only, so no friend can join you.

Also, I found that you can reach ColdHarbour WITHOUT having completed the main quest, so I am un_stuck.

I play a light-armor mage and had relatively little trouble with Mannimarco. I am a primary healer, so I had to switch over to storm calling/summoning to beat him. The atronach really womps his face in and any summons you may have will definitely take heat off of you.

Try switching your build a bit. He is absolutely, positively killable as a light armor mage.

I want to be as nice as possible about this and offer some real solutions. Even though I feel strongly this is a troll comment.

    1. You can level higher in cyrodil the mobs are level 50. There are quests. And skyshards if you need more skill points.
    2. You can respec.
    3. You can ask one of a few hundred thousands mages who have successfully beat this boss how they did it.
    4. You can buy some level 50 3 stat potions that restore all 3 pools.
    5. You can find another game. Honestly if you really can't beat that boss... it won't be getting any easier. For your own sake you might be better off.

I know, right? He's been defiled by ZOS so many times now and people STILL keep whining that he's too hard and to nerf him. It's honestly really confusing after ZOS has brought him down to near trivial difficulty.

He just wants to be loved, not hated.

    :(

This VR2 quest I just did a few minutes ago had three waves of 3 mobs each, and was harder than Mannimarco. Barely lived from running out of Magicka.

I suggest that Mannimarco and Molag are good practice.

It'll be fun to watch when the DC people get to Balreth at VR6 in the EP zones.

Unless, of course, ZOS has nerfed that one too.

Manni was not that hard and if you can't figure out a tactic or weapon to take him down some of the other bosses will see you revisiting another thread (about them)in awhile. This MMO is one of the easiest I've ever played, except for the tedious VR grind that is mind numbingly boring.

He was more fun when he had 50k HP and dealt around double the damage as he does now.

Saying this is a troll post because the fight was easy is just as troll as what you're trying to point out.

Anyway, like some said veteran lvls will be even more challenging. I've seen some good suggestions and tips here.

What I missed was using a healing staff. I defeated every boss with healing staff skills the first 1 on the list. Together with the drain life skill from the mages guild.

And yes stock up on potions. There are more then enough people willing to sell them. I'm lvl 50 alchemist Pm me if you're on EU and need some

I, too, had a hard time defeating Mannimarco.

I finally did it, though, with a sliver of health left. In my experience, it's absolutely essential to get the strongest light armor possible, infuse each piece with health and magicka runes and give them traits that either improve your critical hit chances or armor rating.

I also ate some food that gave me a 307-point health boost, plus a slight residual boost. On top of that, I forged a new fire staff that did 91 points base damage, plus 27 points fire damage on top of that.

Going into the fight, I also had several armor repair kits in my inventory. That way, I wouldn't have to abandon the quest if my equipment became too damaged from several defeats. It also helps to have some health and magika potions slotted into your quick slots.

After all of that, it was a matter of endurance and interrupting that nasty life-sapping beam Mannimarco uses on you. I used the ghosts as "food" of sorts for my vampire, using some of them to restore her health while lightning-bolting others out of existence, which restored a portion of my magicka with each ghost kill. Crystal shards was my main magic attack I used on him; very effective, in my experience.

Oh, one last thing: If you're a vampire, make sure you're no more than Stage 2 when fighting Mannimarco. If you're deeper into the stages, you take a real hit on health regen, unless you have drinks on hand to improve the recovery rate (but those cancel out the health-boost food).

Last, but not least, a word of caution to the "hard-core" players who make light of folks who have difficulties with certain portions of ESO: You risk killing the goose that lays the golden eggs, because a game or gaming community that drives away most of its "casual" player base does not survive long term. I've seen that happen far too often to discount it. This is especially true in a game such as ESO that charges a monthly subscription.

So, when folks pop up asking for advice and help, provide it in a friendly and helpful manner. It will go far in earning their respect for *you* and in staying with ESO, and providing ZeniMax with the income it needs to keep ESO alive and, most importantly, growing.

I agree with you and share your opinion with this quest blocking the game. For me The Elder Scrolls games are mainly for exploration the world of Tamriel.
My opinion is that the this hard bosses should be on side quests rather than in main quest line. At the moment I'm lvl46 and only few quests can be find here and there. Only this one remains in my quest journal. Feels like for my taste too difficult to go over and over again listening the same dialogs over and over again. The same was with (was it lvl20 quest) the castle of worms which I finally passed at lvl32 if I remember correctly. Some players just are not hardcore players and my opinion is that the main quest line is not the one to put as hard boss fights as these are.
But anyway, I'm not giving up with it as there's so much things to enjoy in the game. Just love it too much :)
