two copies on same computer

Is it possible to install 2 seperate copies of ESO on the same computer?

I bought a second copy of ESO yesterday and installed it on my computer in a seperate folder. Still it seems to access the one and only Elder Scrolls Online folder in my documents. Running these seperate copies are giving me errors, mostly from addon folders, since both copies are trying to read the saved variables and settings from that one folder in my documents.

Is there a way to force each copy to have their seperate folder in my documents and if so, how do i do that?

PS: I am not trying to multi box but it would be nice having both copies up for a short amount of time to trade stuff.

Well suggest you disable add-ons while you do it.

Should be able to start both games using their own eso.exe file, however the newly installed copy might not have all the updates. Also could be that the game will not allow connection from 2 exact same ips.

To change the game folder in launcher I think you might need to go to registry to change the path. Also I'm quite sure you will not be able to login to same account more than once so assuming you have 2nd account.

Nothing wrong with boxing, however why do you need to have two copies of the game installed ?
I realise you need 2 accounts, Just run the launcher and login into account 1 then rerun the launcher and login to account 2.

This should stop the conflict with the addons and the files TESO keeps in your documents folder.

I don't have a second account on TESO, but there's no reason why this shouldn't work unless ZOS have some anti boxing code, which in essence is what you are doing.

You don't need 2 installs, just run the 1. Once an instance of the game is running the launchers "Play" button is greyed out so you cant do it as described above.

Run the eso.exe file at ........\TESO\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\ and then you can open a second instance of the game and log into your 2nd account.

According to another thread (from yesterday) the EU and NA servers use different launchers, which overwrite each other.

There is if you use a piece of software to clone actions onto multiple characters; that's no better than playing on one while you bot on another.

Regarding multiple installations on one computer, it might take a bit of savvy to manage it, to get around Windows logic on multiple installations of the same program, but it should be doable. Just have to instal to a different location, but that will probably affect updates as someone mentioned.

Whether you can open more than one window simultaneously with two different accounts without one getting locked up because it detects two connections is another matter entirely.

I already had both copies opened at the same time so that is not the problem.

The only problem i have is that they both use the same folders in my documents where my preferences and settings are stored.
As long as i have only 1 client open there is no problem, but as soon as i have them both open at the same time i get errors.

About the subject to boxing i agree that there is nothing wrong with boxing as long as you are able to play each account as if it were a single account you are playing. I am strongly against boxing if you use a program to make your characters act to one keystroke or mouse movement simultaneously.

Anyways, like i said I didnt get the second account for boxing, just to be able to have all races/classes and i want them all on the EU server. So for playing i only use 1 account at a time. But it would be handy if i could trade between both accounts and to do so i need to have both copies open at the same time.
I will try to disable all addons while having them both open, after all its just trading between 2 characters i am doing at that moment, so no real need for the addons.

That would be automation, not boxing.
