Has anybody else been double billed for their subscription? I got two paypal charges for the same amount. Not good!

I did too, very annoying and I'm down $86 because they are both 90 day sub bills. This is crazy.

I know this seems outrageous. Make sure you contact support and put in a ticket.

If it makes you feel any better, I've seen this happen in multiple other MMOs at launch.

I hope they get it fixed right away, and reimburse everyone who was overcharged in a timely fashion.

I once got charged for 15 months of daoc subs... 15 separate 1 month transactions, and I wasn't the only one.

I won't pretend I know how it works but unfortunately it does happen.

So I just got an email back from them that it could take 5 to 10 business days to get my money back! Really? Does anybody else find this acceptable? Or illegal maybe?

I got 2 pending charge as well. I guess it might because they have not charged
your first payment yet. It should be soon. They reserved the amount of money for the next billing after the soon due one. The second charge is like what we met during launch, the authorization check. I do wish they change the stupid system. They have done the check already, and they repeated the process again. Really annoying. For my bank, the pending charge will fall back in 2 weeks due to master card policies.

It does not depend on Zos, but your bank. Call your bank's information center/Customer service about credit card, and ask them about how long will pending charge/cover reservation will drop. Normally the bank clerks, who are behind the desk, does not quite sure about the duration, and they may simply give you some answer like the money is charged, at least to my bank. I wish it would help.

My son and I were both informed that our subscription payment failed. I used the same credit card for both accounts and renewed both for 30-days recurring... and now I have 4 charges on my credit card: $14.99 (x2) and $16.41 (x2). Not only double billed, but billed two different amounts! Twice!

I have submitted a ticket using the Support tool... but still.

Actually by using Paypal the credits are usually done in a couple hours. There is no excuse for this issue.

I was charged $41.97 twice as well on 5/10. Appreciate if Zenimax could look into this for me as well...

You know with all the cancelled accounts they had to make up for lost revenue. You guys that still want to play should just accept the extra payments as support for your awesome game experience. I am so happy I unsubbed before I got ripped of LOL ;)

People really need to start spamming these clowns with their dissatisfaction. Start at the top.

    "Greetings fellow traveler!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.

We are very sorry your account has been double billed!
This is actually due to a security authorization process.
Your funds are on hold with your bank at this time.
Expect the funds to be returned to your account within 10 business days.

Thank you for your continued interest and support!"

Is it double charge or a pre-auth and a charge? Just wondering - didn't see it on my account (bank or game). I remember how agitated people got with pre-auths before.

I received an email from Customer Support yesterday stating that the two charges are a pre-authorization and a charge, and that the pre-auth should drop off my credit card within 10 days.

Still... having been an MMO subscriber to a variety of titles from Everquest through the present, this is the first time I've seen these types of shenanigans. I wish they would find a better way to handle this, and it would save a lot of headache.

Pre-auths are typical - they usually go away so fast you never see them. More banks are holding your money longer and longer for their own use so they are becoming more visible. You ever wonder why their profits go up so much every year?
