Start off by saying I really enjoy ESO and think the whole tech team doing a great job.

That said, wtf is the point of issuing an email with the "maintenance schedule" of Tues/Fri, then taking the servers down at any other days on a "whim" (seemingly). This erodes confidence and drastically increases annoyance levels...

Please, pick your days and stick to them, you're all adult professionals and (I think) can follow a schedule at this point in your careers.

Apparently the one from April 27th that changed times to Monday/Thursday for the NA server...

Myself and others already have posted this multiple times, but I feel your need to vent. That being said, they are sticking to the NA schedule this week? Baby steps? Lol.

It's not a great sign that the first page of the customer support forum is pretty dead though. Either the game's already lost more players than I thought, or people have just stopped complaining and are playing out their free time since it seems to fall on mostly deaf ears.

True, I missed this as well...On to a related topic then, guys, PLEASE use the comment section on the launcher more frequently...things like this maintenance schedule change could be posted there for a few days...

Instead of using that VASTLY important slot (no sarcasm) for news for something irrelevant (make sure you remove items before you delete?), that news blurb section could be used to keep players up to the minute informed and is an IMMEDIATE fix for this type of frustration...

It's obvious enough people missed that "announcement". Again, please post this type of immediately relevant information on the Launcher. I don't need a reminder for weeks about how to delete a character...

A forum post isn't an "announcement" btw...I don't care to pop open forums frequently to find news about a game...I expect the GAME to be the vehicle to deliver announcements...

I can provide many examples of how this is done well if anyone needs them.

Nope, I don't feel stupid at all. My point in saying that was to define what an announcement is...that's a comment on an already started announcement that was further edited to reflect the comment. They need to do a better job at "announcing" these things, like, I dunno, email? I check that pretty much multiple times a day.

It'd be even better if they added the announcement in the logon screen as well (under the warning about imperial items), because a few people launch the game with eso.exe

Because it's a good game.
It has a great deal of potential to get even better.
Downtime will be less frequent and lengthy as time goes by.
You may or may not have anything better to do.

1 if scheduled maintenance is today, mean tomorrow it will not.
2. are you complaining that they are fixing things a day early? would you feel better if they waited a week, and let people play their 5 days, or would you like a fully functional game to play for 4, so many people are sill stuck in progression, and you want them to wait so you don't have to?

I was complaining originally b/c it didnt appear they were sticking to their schedule (which they *weren't* on several occasions).

Now, I'm just suggesting a more effective avenue for updates/news/alerts then the forums...

I understand that, and have played multiple games from launch like this, yet I have never run into a company that makes no effort past a comment on an already created announcement to let people know that something has changed. I would have noticed it if they simply created a new announcement. Or used the nifty yellow box at the top of everything on the forums. Or through email. Or on the launcher...etc

The answer i was looking for was sorry Oceanics we wont steal two days of your prime time and expect payment for it...

By the way it's not that good of a game that i'll pay for two days sitting in the forums talking smack..
