I can't be along in thinking that all of these single use crafting nodes, quest items, and chests are ruining what could be a friendly helpful community.

I can't even begin to count the number of times I've had a crafting node, treasure chest, or quest item 'stolen' from me when I was standing on top of it fighting a mob that was aggro'd near it.

I think this should at least be looked at or discussed by the team to see if there is a better solution to this aspect of the game because it takes the excitement out of seeing other people to holy crap hurry and kill this faster before I lose this node.

You are't alone but hopefully zenimax pays no attention to these types of suggestions.

While the quest issues need to be addressed because over crowding can make these quests very annoying, the other issues you're complaining about are pretty much the staple of an mmorpg and a non issue.

You would pretty much take the excitement out of treasure chests when they're all over the place instead of being some what rare. You would also flood the market with more crafting supplies because now the nodes are available to everyone instead of being something you can compete for.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

Its an MMO, competing for resources is part of it. Lucky for you resources respawn very fast. Would you prefer it to be instanced like in Guild Wars 2 and take upto 1 whole day for respawn for a node (and at the same time need a whole stack of something to make the good stuff)?

I could agree on the treasure chests. Those I should have left out of my original post.

But at the risk of being flamed for bringing and example of another mmo into the mix gw2 has multi-use crafting nodes and those have not ruined there economy. If anything it helps normalize the market and bring prices into a reasonable range due to the increase in supply as opposed to quest for 3 hours so you can afford a stack of iron ore to craft 3 pieces.

Also nice bible verses I keep telling myself that.

Yep it happent to me many times, and raged to that person for doing it.
But this is in every game like this, if that resource would just become your just for standing next to it.
Then that would mean you almost would have to camp a location in order to be sure to loot something.
Cause then things will be claimed for some ppl that might not even want that resource.

I know what you are saying and nor saying anything bad on what you said.
But this is how it works in every online game.

I'm not implying that just standing next to it should claim it. I'm implying that there could perhaps be a better more unique to ESO system that could be thought up and implemented or just instance them to each person. Saying that, 'well that's just how it is in every MMO' shouldn't be the answer because I'm of the optimistic type that doesn't think that we should be bound by the norms set within a certain industry.

This is going to sound terribly selfish, but here's the deal: some players are adept at PvP, some are super tactical thinkers and can whiz through PvE content, yet others are gifted socially and can get others to do their bidding. I don't have those genes, but I am competent at sniffing out resources and formulating optimal collection routes. I'd rather the developers NOT screw with anything that denies me this tiny piece of the game at which I do well. So, no, leave it as it is.

Whatever, please don't add anything that's based on a luck factor. Yesterday I tried to improve three items at 80% and lost them all. Vowing never to do that again I tried at 100% and still failed. And despite what the data dinks are saying, I haven't seen a motif in almost three weeks.

In short, the more the game is skill based, the better. Keep luck and artificial advantages out of the equation, please.

There is nothing skill based about that it's either getting to a node before someone else or waiting until there back is turned or there occupied and taking it the latter of which is where my problem lies.

Skill based in this game is either coming up with the best battle plan to take down a boss or strategically seiging a castle while fending off and incoming attack. And you'll find no bigger advocate to leave those as is or make them more difficult then myself.

I agree, I try to notice names that do that so next time I see them struggling I just sneak on by.

For open nodes I see it as first come, first served unless there is a mob on the node... if there IS a mob then whoever fights it should get the resources... I tend to stand back and see if they want it.

Those that sneak in are breaking no ZOS rules but if they find themselves left hanging by the community they will learn their lesson...

I had a great moment today when I found someone who'd chest stolen on me earlier... I walked a triple mob onto them and stealthed away while they died... rough justice baby...

On the contrary. If you think there's no skill in setting out a collection route, balanced in resources and treasure chests, and timed for optimal arrival at or very soon after node spawns, you're kidding yourself.

And if you get your feelings hurt whenever you're beat out for a node, you may want to consider a nice game of checkers. Opposite to what you may think, nodes do re-spawn, there will always be another, and methinks you're making too big a deal out of nothing.

Believe me, I don't like that there are so many jerkwads playing MMOs either, but as the man said, that's life in the fast lane. You either learn to deal with it or go back to playing games with training wheels.

I dont think there is a better way then it is right now.
Making it so that it is instance based just for that person would make being able to sell or trade them almost to pointless.

But it is, every game have the standerd base line rules.
It will never change, every game i played in there couldnt be a better system like this one.
Cause this way it stays competitive, and also this way the market stays alive.

But then again i am not here to trash talk you in anyway, i understand 100% what your saying but the best way is still the way we have it now.
There will always be *** in any game, and you are more then in the right to be mad about it.
