Hair animation

Yes, I know doing proper hair animation is hard. But at least a certain level of quality should be maintained. This definitely is the opposite of that:

I understand this is supposed to give the impression of hair flying in the wind but... it just does not work. It would be far better if it simply sticked to the character's neck and back instead.

Lol... Didn't know my character had a twin sister :)

But yeah, it's kinda wierd how her hair acts on horseback

This happened in Swtor, hair and capes did not react properly above a certain speed (capes frequently rose above my head on elevators/lifts).

Which makes me think it's a problem with engine physics, and they just can't work properly within some parameter of speed, below this parameter it works fine, and above it works fine, but needs fine tuning at fairly slow speeds.

Hero Engine. Yes I know they said it was only used for the 'prototype' but it's plain as day that this is hero engine in some form or other, just with modified code. Character movement/physics, hair, shading, graphics, even the bugs we've all been experiencing are classic hero engine.

Be glad you HAVE hair movement, in skyrim your hair was glued down with 10 pounds of hair spray.

Well as I said, glued to the body is still better than this awkward thing we have now.

: shrug : while it could be better, at least we get a little movement when not on horse back. Works well with pretty much all hair types except the really long hair.

Thanks for the thread, glad someone else saw this.

I wish they would support tressfx,

2.0 is around the corner and just beautiful. Yes many might say I am silly to demand beautiful hair, especially in an MMO where every FPS counts but still. Tomb Raider was a blast with Tressfx (at least if you had a capable GPU) and it would be great to have similar hair at ESO.

Besides that, I don't think its good that the staff on our back is clipping with our chars hair. It looks really weird :(

While I support this idea, it is very difficult not to have clipping in an mmo where people can be anywhere from midget stick size to giant whale size =P.

I completely agree. The first time I made a character with long hair in the beta and experienced this awful attempt at hair physics, I honestly had to look away from my screen. My friend even resorted to calling my character "Flappy".

I think I would prefer it if they took a page out of Skyrim's book and just had the hair glued to your back.

Its really only a problem with the long hair style , make a character with the done up braids on your back, or the really long braided ponytail, or the ponytail dreads and you will see It is really only a problem with that one hair style.
