1.) Currently, Enchanting and Provisioning have generic skills called “Hireling.” Give it more flavor and rename, such as:

    Enchanting – Acolyte Hireling
    Provisioning – Farmer Hireling

For example, Blacksmithing has a hireling called "Miner Hireling." Just sounds better.

2.) To make Provisioning even more beneficial; having the ability to cook-on-the-fly would make a world of difference and unique among professions. It would be awesome if Provisioning had one more passive skill, namely "Firemaking." This skill would allow the player to make a campfire with a cooking pot.

I'm a dedicated crafter and trader, and I have honestly enjoyed the crafting system in this game more than any MMO that I've played before. That being said, there are definitely a few things I would change.

When trying to sell crafted gear sets, most players have a lot of questions at this point in the game. Many people are completely unaware of crafted sets, so I spend a lot of time explaining how the system works, and trying to figure out if I can make a set of gear that the person might be interested in buying. The number of different choices available can be somewhat overwhelming, I have to find out what level, rarity, set, style, trait, and enchantments a person wants for each piece of gear, and then I have to calculate the total cost of an order based on the going rate of each individual material, which I have seen vary as much as 50% in a day.

In short I would like to see a "portfolio" type of feature, where I can send a person a mail, and in that mail, they can have the option to virtually create a gear set that I am capable of crafting, that will give them a price estimate based on my rates for materials (or give them a list of materials for them to provide), and would allow them to return a work-order for me to complete.

At the very least, I would like to have the ability to "link" my view of the crafting station to someone, so that they can see what I can make.

Thanks for the awesome feedback. I was thinking about this the other day. It would be nice to be able to link in chat something like what you see in my signature in-game. You can mouse over the set name and it will show you what the bonus is.

    Adding it to the list.

Thanks for the suggestion. I added this:

Add the ability to deconstruct armor/weapons if they have an enchantment to gain inspiration and it breaks down just like a glyph would.

With as much fuss as there is about the amount of storage there is in game, I'm surprised that we can't craft Bag Space. It could be a mat heavy requirement to keep the costs in line with in-game bank and bag upgrades with Gold.

Pick one of the Mid-level base mats, like Dwarven Ore, Sanded Hickory or Spider Silk. It could also have quality levels along the lines of White=4slots, Green=6slots, Blue=8slots, Purple=10slots, Orange=12slots.

The next time you upgrade you have to use the next higher mat. So you can't have a bunch of Spider Silk upgrades for example, only one then the next is the next higher mat.

    Provisioning
This profession levels up way too fast! The developers should readjust the leveling curve and make it more in line with other professions. Also, make Fishing required to level up Provisioning.

    Fishing
I would love if Zenimax added daily fishing quests to ESO. These quests would offer rewards, such as Provisioning recipes that require fish as an ingredient.

There needs to be synergy between Provisioning and Fishing.

    Alchemy
Currently, potions are too plentiful. Potion drops need to be significantly reduced across the board in order to improve demand and ultimately making Alchemy a more desired profession to undertake.

    Enchanting
Players that partake in Enchanting know how incredibly difficult it is to level. With that said, in order to improve the leveling process, I suggest the developers add an option to extract a Glyph from a piece of gear by destroying it in the process.

    Armor & Weapons
All armor and weapons (both crafted and dropped) will now show the racial style in the upper left corner of the tool-tip.

I would actually want a true preview option for armor / weapon crafting.
currently you have no real way of knowing how a piece of armor / weaponry will look due to the sylized depiction, and while you could say looks are secondary they are nonetheless important in an mmo

One of the biggest complaints that I have heard is around crafting mats. There should be some kind of tool tip that indicates the level of item that the material is used for. This would definitely be useful in Provisioning, and determining what you want to keep or avoid picking up.

Along the same lines, for provisioning, it would be nice to have a tool tip to indicate if an ingredient is used by a recipe that you currently know. I have adopted pen and paper for this purpose, but it would be nice to have something in game for this purpose.

    Just a few thoughts...

Here is a suggestion for overall crafting. I think there needs to be some reward for reaching level 50 of your chosen Profession. I would love to see 2 things added along those lines. First, I would like to see a title, such as "Master Blacksmith", "Master Clothier", etc etc. Second, I would LOVE the ability to unlock a costume appropriate for the craft in which you just mastered. So, let's say you reach 50 Blacksmith, you would unlock the "Master Blacksmith" title along with a blacksmithing costume. Same would apply for the other professions.

    General
    - At the crafting table colour those weapons/ armour which you need for research differently, so that bit is easy to tell which can be deconstructed. Alternatively, have a deconstruction tab which only shows those items without traits yet to be researched.
    - Add crafting quests in game; e.g. craft 'x' supplies and deliver them to a set location, with rewards and crafting xp. Just something to spice up the game, not as a full replacement for the system.
    - Add a 'grandmaster' quest with a trade specific reward at 50 crafting.

    Clothing/ Blacksmithing
    - Add in interface to enable specific colours/ dyes to be selected - although keep them 'gritty' to maintain the feel of the game.

    Blacksmithing
    - Introduce horseshoes to be made and equipped to boost either speed and/ or stamina of mounts.

    Clothing
    - Introduce tunics to be made as an alternative to robes.
    - Introduce the research and crafting of cosmetic clothing and costumes.
    - Introduce ingredient bags to be made for materials and runes.

    Enchanting
    - Increase xp gain from deconstruction and/ or crafting.
    - Allow the deconstruction of jewelry.
    - Increase the rate for gaining aspect runes.

    Woodworking
    - Allow ingredient chests to be made for materials and runes.

Just found this developer comment about Veteran Rank Armor/Weapons Aesthetics. So once it has been verified it is fixed I will remove it from the list if it resolves the issue that was in question.

IMHO and It could be just me in this. But I really can't stand the enchanting system. Its an overly convoluted mess. I'm running around with a metric ton of one or two rune types and none of the third. So I can't translated most of my runes. But I hang on to them because I want to translate them for later. Idk. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, and if so tell me. But after hours of harvesting nodes, I feel like I am stuck with a ton of runes that I don't want to get rid of, but can't make use of.

Thanks for commenting. There are some suggestions that people have provided to hopefully help change some things in the future.

Currently what you have to do now in order to efficiently level enchanting is to focus on deconstructing glyphs. That is where you get most of your inspiration comes from. I am going to assume as this is the case for most people, that you have lots of essense, few aspects and not any potency or potency that is too high for you to use. If that is the case then this is what I would suggest.

Don't be overly concerned with making glyphs. I think it is intended to be hard to get the ones you are missing just to keep the market in check on how many glyphs are in the economy. So you have to keep that in mind. Think about investing some points to create higher glyphs if you have many higher level ones if you still have some essence runes you haven't discovered the traits for. Once you have discovered all the traits for your essence runes. I would only keep in your bank which ones you plan on using in the future which generally will be just a handful. Sell all your other essence runes you don't want and use that money to obtain glyphs in bulk. Buy the highest level ones you can the rarer the better inspiration you will get. If you don't have much money then hopefully you are in a great guild that has a guild bank and can trade out glyphs or deconstruct ones from the guild bank. Always remember the higher and rarer they are the better inspiration. It is a difficult profession to level but it has its reasons to be. Keep pressing on til some tweaks come way and adapt to what gets changed. Finding another guildy or friend to exchanges glyphs will immensely help the progress. NEVER deconstruct your own glyphs.

Wow thanks a lot for the tips! I'm not in a guild ATM, but I will definitely keep what you said in mind. So long run wise you would say its worth the point investment? Right now I am also a clothier, smith, and woodworker, and I've been on the fence on abandoning enchanting. Like you said, no potency runes.

Patch 1.1 = More enchanting nodes. More fishing featurs and they add recepies for the new zone, which some only the hireling can bring.

I really love new ideas and how much work OP put in his post.

But most posts here are either about problems/changes that is already adressed about schedualed to be fixed. Most others seams to be bigger bank space....sigh.

I do like the idea of certain traideskills gets added skills they can learn IF!!! BIG IFFF, Zenimax introduces housing.

A store that sells you mats which is rare by the core of the game....you should not have access to everything. Some things are more valueble and rare then others.

I sound like a grumpy old man now, but I am happy about new ideas, but WHY does every single idea have to be about making something easier?

Is it to much to ask that someone comes up with the idea that, lets make a really good provisioning recepie but it needs a drop from a very hard raid boss + materials from other tradeskillers and takes time to produce?

Because that would not be easier and take long......like that was a bad thing.

OP, Love your post. Dont agree with much of it though.

Thanks for the feedback and the appreciation forwarded to the OP. I as well like things that give flavor and options but not to dumb it down. The OP is geared toward getting suggestions for either improvements or fixes to the current state of the system. I try to remove anything that we know is being implemented unless we feel that the feedback is still valid if we see it necessary to still let them know our suggestion on how to implement it.

Some of the suggestions are to make things easier, but there is always ways to bring synergy between the crafting skills. The developers are going to do what they want anyways. But they still like to hear our suggestions. You never know our suggestion may spark a flame of creativity with one of the devs and create something even more awesome. That is the way I look at it. Think positive and express positive. It will get you in the right direction more often than not.

There are some suggestions that really should be in the default ui anyways. Making things more accessible is not always dumbing things down either. Some are making things less frustrating. As with anything a lot of the ui suggestions or implements ZOS should do should be able to be toggle that way if someone doesn't like it them they can just turn that feature off. Just like the rest of the ui.

With the before launch rupture of the addon api restrictions it does make things harder to make addons that will alleviate a lot of issues that people have and make things not so cluttered when implementing addons.

Again Cogo we appreciate your feedback.

So it has been 2 weeks since I started this post. I stated that I would pull suggestions for 2 weeks. I am going to extend this for a few more days maybe even another week. Reason being there is some things that may be changing and will have information available so we may be able to thin this out and or add to it. Once the time has come I will let everyone know.
