Mail scams!

Hello,
I sold another player 3k worth of purple drink items, send it CoD for 3500,which he agreed to. I got a mail back with a worm and 1gold CoD fee attached, and a message that says "TY, you got SCAMMED!, and your name sucks" (just to add insult to injury I guess).

So, there is apparently a bug or exploit that allows players to take items without paying for them. I reported it, of course, but in the meantime I'm out 3k worth of items I worked very hard to gather and craft.

I just want to let other people know, the CoD system is untrustworthy. Duh I guess. But only trade in person!

Also, is there anything else I can do aside from reporting the person? It is fairly upsetting. :(

    Sorry it happened to you. I did send couple of mails myself with COD, on which I still waiting for a payment,maybe I'm in a same boat ?! But, will trade in person from now. Life goes on.

    Yeah Ive started saying only pick up on items over 1K. The postage is ridiculous and its completely broken!

    I haven't seen anyone reporting problems with the COD system recently, though that isn't to say something new hasn't cropped up. Something to consider, which may or may not be related - it is *very* easy to send a mail intended to be COD that actually sends your own gold along with the items, could this have been the case, and you just dealt with an ***? Personally, I just avoid the whole risk/mess by doing all trades in person. It doesn't cost anything but a little bit of time to meet up and make the trade, and the security of that is worth far more than the potential frustration or other problems of sending it by mail (since someone can sit on a COD mail for 30 days before it autoreturns).

    Beyond that, reporting is about all you can do to deal with it. Sadly there is no way to determine what guilds the person is in to contact any of their officers/leaders for intervention, so you are stuck waiting on customer service to get involved.

    Well I would think if you have a screenshot/proof that the person said you got scammed, I would think ZOE would make it right.

    Just as an update, ZOE refunded me my money I lost on this player, and in a very timely fashion. Very good customer service. :)
