    Does get boring doesn't it?

I guess everybody will just have to temper their expectations of drops now because it's not going to get any better.

thx for the info , i was thinking it might be caused by an improvement patch

Well 'improvement' is a subjective term at the very least.

My point is that they nerfed drops from containers in 1.0.6 so from now on it's best not to expect much from them at all.

You will get those lucky RNG people who say "omg you just suck at clicking containers.. I get like 10bajillion purples each click" so best just to keep on truckin'.

    They be lyin' anyways. :)

I've noticed this since the patch, and I find it extremely disheartening as a mostly-solo, part-time player. Now, the only ones who will get recipes are the farmers. At this point they might as well add an auction house, since you're now going to have to buy recipes and components from them.

They will be, kiosks are coming. So all those gold seller owned guilds can bid the highest bid and sell all their stuff legitimately. Sigh...

If this is truly the case, the something is definitely off with the procedures they're using to eliminate gold selling. I'm going to be pretty disappointed if I reach the veteran levels only to discover that I can't find the Ancient Elf, Barbarian, Primal, and Daedric motifs for my crafting character, I'm going to be awfully disappointed. That was one of the things I was actually really looking forward to (yes, I'm maybe a bit OCD about it).

If this really is the case, then it seems like Zenimax is shooting themselves in the foot unless they plan to back it down at some point. Motifs are a pain to find anyway (at least once you've managed to get most of them), and this would mean that only the people who raced to Veteran levels have them and the rest of us who don't play as much or as fast are out of luck. And that's just from my perspective as a blacksmith.

More of a concern is exactly how does this affect Provisioners since most of their raw materials comes from those things. They're basically stopped dead in their tracks at a certain point, and that doesn't seem like something Zenimax would want either. Or does this just mean that now they have to start running through solo dungeons and looting all the crates, barrels, and bags they can find?

I'm going to place myself in the camp of "This was intended as a stopgap measure" and that it's not supposed to be permanent. This doesn't just affect farmers and bots, but everyone playing the game, and eliminating all drops like that doesn't sound like good sense. The screwy thing is that the furniture, barrels, trunks, crates, and bags don't affect everyone since they're sort of linked to you.

    Don't take this wrong...but "Good.."

Hopefully there will be a different measure taken to stop "cabinet farmers" & the like; but for now, I'm completely sanguine with them removing ALL motifs & recipe drops from said items.

I'm in two minds about this

I have noticed far more empty containers and recently ones that appear full and have the yellow search on them, often turn to empty as soon as I click on them.

Sure it could be argued that until I search I won't know if it's empty, but if that's how it's intended, then all containers should be searchable?

Where I'm in two minds though is that I hoped getting all the recipes would take months, I also expected it to take me a fair few months to find the normal racial motifs.

I'm level 27, had all the normal motifs over a week ago

I got to level 50 in provisioning so quickly I put in a bug report as I couldn't believe it was working as intended.

Every day just going in say the bank in waycrest and searching the desks and chests there, I would find at least one recipe and sometimes two or three. I and many others were putting our duplicates on the guild bank.

I loved cooking in other mmos as it wasn't a straight forward quick thing to level. I was really looking forward to it on ESO but getting to level 50 in about a week without really trying has been my biggest letdown of the game so far.

Initially everyone in the guild picked 2 crafts they were concentrating on, one of mine was provisioning. But now my alts starting that and I have switched my main to enchanting and I am loving it as aspect runes seem so hard to find. I want things to take a few months to level and for me, provisioning mats and recipes were/are in too abundant supply. Our guild even set up another guild just to use the guild bank as the main one kept getting full of provisioning items, with us all under strict instructions that no provisioning items go in it.

So in a way I would be glad if my alt takes a lot longer to find recipes and mats, but he's only just level 6 and already has provisioning up to 19 and has found 4 food and 5 drink recipes, same level as my mains enchanter whose been at it for 3 weeks.
