Deals 32 Magic Damage to target and knocks down for 2 seconds. 35% chance to make your next use an instant cast and cost 50% less when activating ability with a Magicka cost. New Effect: Chance to make ability instant cast.

That's the tool tip:- now after firing 50 CF I didn't get 1 proc - altho when i use it with another spell velocious curse for e.g it procs nicely.

We all know that CF costs magicka so is this a bug that it doesn't proc off it's self, or is it working as intended and some 1 really didn't think about the text?

It's a very misleading tooltip for sure. The way it actually works is it has a 35% chance to be instant cast after casting any other spell (that costs magicka). However, it CANNOT proc off itself (which was verified in your test).

It may be working, just hard to see.

Since it procs instantly when another spell is cast, the graphic would appear at the exact same time as a 2nd cast of CF (making the proc invisible under the normal cast.)

I'm pretty sure it worked like that in beta (my sorc is not specced with it now).

So if you don't have any addons that show damage, it would appear to be a crit, or a cast that does a lot of damage (2x) about 35% of the time.

If they made the proc a non-instant cast .1-.2 secs, you would see 2 shoot off when you cast CF.

Maybe they should change it to this so it has a delay so it is clear if it casts off itself (it should because it costs mana).
