when i was in cryodiil i was just about to kill some one and he ran into the cave nearby to escape fighting me, i ran after him and continued to attack. however, he was stuck in a loading screen to enter the cave. he had no chance to defend himself and he was free to kill easily as i was seeing his character standing there but i knew he was in a loading screen.

now, if you were in a loading screen trying to enter a cave and then when you arrive in the cave dead, wouldnt that anger you? knowing that your body was iether outside the cave or inside the cave stuck and not only unaware you were being attacked but also unable to defend your self? this to me is a cheat and or an exploit. please fix this zenimax. it's a bit unfair to the person loading into the cave as they would have no control of the attack.

Was the character you attacked an Aldmeri Dominion, Khajit Nightblade? In the vicinity of Brindle, in western Cyrodiil? Was it yesterday? If so: It was probably my main character you whacked xD. For the record: I didn't enter the cave to escape fighting. I entered the cave in search of a skyshard. I was completely unaware of any player attack. I probably hit "E" at the exact same moment as you attacked and when my loading screen finally finished I was indeed dead. Inside the dungeon. Without the option the ress at the spot with a soul gem. No hard feelings towards you, or whoever attacked me thou, it is a pvp area after all. Zenimax: I would very much like to have the opportunity to defend myself when in Cyrodiil. Being killed while in waiting for a loading screen is pretty much a game/dealbreaker. Some kind of protected status while loading textures etc. is required. If this might be abused somehow, for example through add-on scripting, you really need to over-haul what add-ons can and cannot effect.

Remind me not to run into any caves while I'm being chased. Although does kinda serve him right for running away. Stand and fight next time....lol

Many games solves this by having a small window of immunity while loading into a new area. Maybe this would be an idea here too, it's never fun to get killed while having no control of your character.
However, I can see this being abused by people fighting nearby caves and purposely running into them when they are losing.

Maybe a better solution would be a combination of a couple of seconds of immunity AND to not being able to enter/trigger the loading screen while in combat. If you try, you'd be met by an invisible wall.

this works in keeps aswell when the defenders use the doors and you have made it inside the outer walls people get a split second load screen and die horribly as you wait at the door and kill as they enter.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you can enter a cave while in combat, just as you can't mount up. My "killed-by-player-and-waking-up-dead" incident from yesterday probably stems from the simple fact that whoever got me had a shorter loading screen than me. Still pretty damned annoying, but if I had been in combat, I shouldn't have been able to enter the cave in the first place.

    What is the exploit/cheat exactly?
Attacking someone that is zoning or running away?
    I dont get it :|

Maybe you are right. I haven't thought much about it, as I am so used to not being able to enter from other games I always kill everything I got on me before I even try.

Maybe the guy didn't get stuck in a loading screen at all, but met an invisible wall and stood still because he gave up.

The exploit is being able to attack another player, while that player is waiting for his/hers load screen to finish. As for me: I was NOT running away. I simply entered a dungeon, completely unaware of the other player. That other player followed me inside and killed me, while I was still waiting for my load screen to finish. Being able to attack someone, who is completely defenceless due to some built-in, technical issue, surely is an exploit, isn't it?

I think in your ole's case it's just bad luck, and in the case of the OP it is bad tactics to force a loading screen during PvP.

Ahhh, the old "Faster Loading Screen Than Thou" guaranteed victory.
Like I said, many games solved this by adding a window of immunity while you load; an immunity that breaks as soon as you attack something.

It's usually not something the game have at launch for some odd reason, but something added later when players are being vocal about it. Especially when bad PvPers start using it to camp a cave and kill everybody trying to get in/out. THAT is exploiting unintended game mechanics.

Ah ok now i got it.
They should implement invulnerability as soon as the loading starts, however i dont think its an exploit.

I'm confused seems like the OP is bragging that he killed somebody in a loading screen but making it seem like some sort of exploit/cheat because he killed someone who couldn't defend himself...in the real world they call that something else. (sorry just don't understand cheat/exploit aspect of this situation, seems like shameless bragging at best)

On the other hand it is annoying if someone can attack you and, if they start loosing they throw themselves at a zone border.

Trying to run away is one thing, just using a zone to never loose is annoying.

Just doesn't add up when the person comes in and says yeah you killed me that way...and the OP says nope because I felt bad. But how would you even know that a person zoning like that could be killed....and the whole OP makes it seem like you killed somebody zoning, either way can anyone explain how this once in a blue moon situation could be called an exploit or cheat? (well people that spend time in Cyrodiil and can understand how often this will never happen...ODDS say second poster is right and you changed tune after he came forward

    no, not at all.
i did not kill him, once i realized he was loading into the loading screen i stoped atacking and felt bad because i saw he could not defend himself. if you look at the 5th comment down youll see i mentioned that i did not kill him.

And it was most likely NOT Hlaren-shortsheath, whom I met during my incident, but someone else. Or maybe something else. But I couldn't ress at the spot, indicating that it was indeed a player and not an npc, that got me. Or maybe I got whacked outside the cave and somehow, with my last dying breath, managed to open the door to the cave, drag myself into it, only to die just inside xD. Imagine the evil residents of said cave, returning from a raid going: "Dude, what's that SMELL?" xD
