Eat fish, not worms

As a Redguard fisherwoman I'm appalled at the fact that nobody in Tamriel can make a decent meal out of my catch. The idea of eating worms instead of using them to catch delicious fish is absurd! I think the culinary professionals have been hanging around in Dhalmora too long.

Please for the love of my profession, won't someone come up with some recipes so my stocks of Salmon, River Betty and Slughterfish will be put to good use.

On an unrelated note, if you have a source for bait, I'll buy it.

    Go fish at:
    • A wrecked ship.
    • Near a pirate ship.

There is a rumour you can catch shark's there.

When I found out that fishing served no purpose beyond trophies I was fairly shocked. Even back in EverQuest I spent way more time than necessary sitting on the edge of a lake with my fishing pole. (You spilled your beer!)

I can't imagine what led to the decision to not use fish for provisioning. I can't come up with a single good reason.

This was in beta but taken out basically leaving fishing as only a means of achievements and little else they have said they will do more with it in the future but as it stands you can either eat your bait or catch fish that don't exist outside of achievements cause they don't actually end up in your bag....

I also don't like the price of simple bait being 15gold, if the fish is useless and only sells for 3g. It's like Sheogorath designed the fish market in Tamriel. My ancestors on Yokuda will be turning in their graves.

Worms, maggots and plump worms are important foods for nords, dunmer and argonians. Foolish to feed fish food!, use steak or mutton or something useless.

fishing is DOA so far. I'm sure in time ZOS will add some incentive for leveling it, however. Special loot bags/boxes could be fished up I suppose, but it would be better to flesh out the entire profession IMO.

You can catch special loot bags by fishing. They're called Wet Gunny Sacks. However, their contents are no different than that of a standard Heavy Sack. So they alone are not a good enough reason to fish.

Disgusting creatures you Ebonheart Pact are. I wouldn't put it past the brutish Nords to eat fish bait, but do the Dunmer actually eat the worms, or just toss them to their scaly slaves?

I have caught many a gunny sack in the waters of Tamriel. Sadly, nobody in the towns seem to want to purchase them. Alas, I have resorted to giving them away as prizes to those nice enough to dig up some bait and sell it to me.

Eventually I'll have to get my hands bloody, in the quest to fill my coffers so I can continue my passion for angling. I do enjoy wetting my blades with blood, but it's unfortunate that my profession has to rely entirely on the spoils of war. Back in Yokuda, it was of the highest honor to feed the warrior clans with fish from the many seas we sailed. In Tamriel I feel like an outcast, an unwanted, wasting away my life to pull trash from the waters.

Just checking, but you know you can open the sacks right?

What use do I have for two Kuta runes? I'm am but a fisherwoman. I was hoping people who can find use for the items they may contain would pay me a worth while sum to fish them out. But, it seems nobody wants to risk a few gold on what could turn out to be a piece of bone or obsidian.

I also stumbled onto some twisted Daedric princes idea of a funny joke.

Let's have a fishing hole beside an island in Cyrodiil, but make sure the waters around it are infested with slaughterfish, making it completely inaccessibly. I suspect Sheogorath.

Or you could open it. Get the Kuta. And trade that. People don't want to gamble on a trade. In any case your odds of getting a Kuta out of a Wet Gunny Sack or Heavy Sack are pretty slim.

eventually possible to get there, but I do not think the effort would pay with anything special.

Which is what I've resorted to doing. Point is, I'm trying to sell them for a price that's less than the price of two kuta but more than the price of a Ta. So, if they're lucky they'll get a great deal on two Kuta, but, more than likely they'll pay too much for garbage. Like a lottery ticket.

For example, I was trying to get 100g for each gunny sack. Two Kuta would be 5 or 10x that amount depending on who is buying/selling. Out of the 15 I just opened, I got three purple runes, a couple hemming, and some other gem stones, and of course a few pieces of race material, aka garbage. Is 1500g worth it for that haul? Maybe, but there is also a chance that it would have produced 30 Kuta, extremely slim chance, but the chance is still there.
