Shield colours bugged?

I'm trying to make an ash imperial shield but with a RED crystal but it keeps coming up as green/blue or whatever. Can anyone help?

Reguard is same. No colour, green and blue is what I have seen.

We can't choose the colour of our armor/weapons, yet.
The only thing you can try is improving the item to green or blue etc, which also changes the colour of the item - and maybe you'll get lucky and get a red diamond
