how to whisper a GM thats in-game about a bot!

ok so i get this System message saying a GM is going to be on for 15 mins and to whisper him if i find a bot..i TRY to whisper him but it isnt working! so why tell us to whisper your GM if we cant? there are spam bots in Riften right now and i am trying to tell @Gamemaster_Gledii about it >_<

It's a system message dude. It's just getting the message out there. No harm in spreading the word even if whispers are currently down. Good idea imo and it's good to see they are aiming their attention towards these bots. Once you get out of the starting alliance areas you begin to enjoy spam free zone chat lol. But it sucks that they're ruining the game for the new players who have to witness the spam fest.1 -

or some other GM....would one of you mind explaining how to whisper a GM ingame? didnt want to make a new discussion so i thought i would ask in my old one. again alot of us have TRIED whispering the GM that was supposed to be on....and it says that the person isnt online or w/e. would one of you mind clarifying how to whisper your GMs so we can report the bots we find? please?

Most likely an auto-mated message to also warn real players in zone that they are about to drop the hammer on some bots, so they can stay clear...until they get pms fixed

✭I don't think the private messages referred to in the red box mean in-game whispers - I believe it's in reference to people getting gold spam Private Messages on their forum accounts
I've whispered a GM in game before it just didn't pop up on my screen as an outgoing whisper
When in doubt, use /zone to pass your initial message, if they see it - they'll whisper you for follow-on information

If you want to whisper a GM hunting bots, you open the chat window in-game and type /tell <Gamemastername>, and your message. So if, for example, you want to talk to Gamemaster Bot-Smasher to help them smash some bots, you type /tell Gamemaster Bot-Smasher,. Don't forget about the comma at the end!
Also for clarification: The in-game whisper function is not affected by the deactivation of private messages on the forums. Those systems are completely independent from each other.
