Wayshrine to Wayshrine costing gold now?

ohiostate622_ESO
Just noticed this yesterday but the when I try and travel form a Wayshrine to Wayshrine it is now costing me gold. I know other people that I play with are not experiencing this issue. Its costing me 105 gold every time i try and travel in Shadowfen.

Is it only shadowfen? Which wayshrines to and from and have you launched a bug message. Help the CS team by giving them some specifics beyond just the region.
A maxed out luggage draught horse should be allowed to carry a wayshrine

It dosnt matter where I am or where im trying to go.

This might sound like a stupid comment but are you actually using the wayshrine and not pressing "m" to open your map? Judging by your screens shots..it looks as though you're too far from the shrine to be able to interact with it lol

I also judge it like this as I have no idea what level you are or if you are new to the game. You could be a vet for all I know lol

Im not using the map. I am going up to the Wayshrine and pressing "E" to use it.

I have noticed that some wayshrines have a gold cost associated with them that counts down to 0 after you use it for some odd reason. Perhaps you got stuck in some sort of loop of this.

I thought that was intentionally put into the game to prevent players from using the wayshrines too often within a certain amount of time. I can't see much need for that in the pve parts of Tamriel but probably is more relevant to teleporting from base to base in Cyrodiil. Consider it a pvp tax. :)

You think that is odd? I was sitting at a Wayshrine plotting what to do next and I watch the cost of porting go down tick by tick. It was going to cost me 500g if I would have chose to port when I first arrived and used the wayshrine. But I watched the cost go down to the normal 100g'ish price.

When you are at a shrine and want to travel to another shrine the message says "left click to fast travel here". When you are on the map screen and want to travel to a shrine the message says "Left click to recall here". Your screen shots say "recall".

Agree. That sure looks like a case of 'hit the wrong button'. I've almost done that myself a few times.

If you optimize the file or turn it into some format smaller in terms of byte such as jpg, it will be easier for others to see. It will make your point easier since i will not download 7 MB file on my computer even it was a bitmap.

Edit: On to the subject, when you get a higher level quest such as mages-guild, it is unlocking the waypoint for next zone even you didn't discover that zone. Maybe game charging these waypoints as you didn't activeted them for real.

Not odd at all....intentional design to keep people from porting all over the place quickly.

Granted it doesn't exactly do much considering that the hackers just have their gathering bots port from node to node. However I'd have to imagine that's one of the intents behind that.

Nice to know I'm not crazy! I said something about this in zone chat yesterday and they all treated me like I was an idiot! It is costing me the same amount now to use the wayshrine than it would to just do it on the map. Granted if I am at the shrine it counts down slowly, but man what is the point in walking all the way to the wayshrine if I'm still going to have to pay??

be sure you are using the wayshrine and not just opening the map near it, cuz that's not the same thing. See so many people doing the animation where you are surrounded by starts teleporting to a wayshrine, this is when you are paying, wayshirne travel is instant when going from shrine to shrine

Hasn't been costing me gold, used wayshrines several times today, no gold cost. Sounds like OP has hit a bug.

What you are seeing there is probably people playing in a group, 1 person in the group uses the wayshrine, then other members of the group who have not discovered the destination use "travel to player" to go to the group member who can use the destination wayshrine (that gives the 'surrounded by a blue bubble' type of effect) - I do that regularly when playing with a guild where other people may have been to places where I don't know a wayshrine ;)

So you walk to a wayshrine to do this? this is why i was skeptical. why walk all the way to a wayshrine and then get that animation. Ive done it by accidentally a couple of times, luckily it doesnt charge you until you are already in the loading screen, so I just move immediately

Yeah, because you're following the person who knows where he's going. You follow him to the wayshrine, he uses the wayshrine, then everyone else does 'travel to player' to follow him - even if you have the destination wayshrine on your map, it's easier to use travel to player than use the wayshrine! (edit - using the wayshrine means you have to click through your maps and find the right wayshrine, using travel to player just delivers you to the right one :D )

You can even travel to any shrine that is near a guild member, unless that person is in content you cannot access (like if you are sub-50 for vr content) or cyrodiil. Just right click any guildmember in the roster and pick teleport.

True you can do it any time from anywhere to many places, but if you're adventuring in a group it still requires one of you to be at the destination, and you tend to stick together for social reasons - so you all go to the wayshrine, at least one uses the wayshrine, others can too, but it's usually just easier to use the travel-to option rather than activating the wayshrine then finding the right one to travel to, or the destination may not have been discovered by you yet so travel-to is the only option at that point :)
