This is not a "I quit!" thread and Im not trying to directly hate on the game (well you can see it that way, but I felt I had to share my opinion on why ESO doesnt catch me anymore)
The unfixed issues post launch
I could start out with the numerous bugs which
should have been fixed long ago in the beta during testing and the load balancing, the lag, the abillity delay and at times often clunky combat, but the worst part about ESO in my opinion are the numerous poor design decisions the game has.
The 5+1 x 2 actionslots bore me
This has been discussed to oblivion (no pun intended!) that some people prefer the idea that you have choice instead of a full range of abillities...but I disagree. You can design some sensible, fun abillities on a full mmo bar just as well as the few slots ESO has and Im already worn out doing the same setup all the time, even by trying out loads of different builds.
What people forget is that a bar with, say, like WoW or Aion or any other "normal" amount of slots you get way slower bored.
Consoles
This will probably infuriate many what I am saying now: the decision Zenimax made to build ESO around other platforms than PC, is a huge design flaw and it deeply affects various ingame gameplay factors. Not only can you only mod on PC (wether you like mods or not) and the UI is probably one of the worst UIs ive seen in a socalled AAA mmo ever - Im talking about all the way from the party UI, to the Guild Store UI (NOT the bugs!) and to the inventory interface's numerous lacking facets.
Another issue which I talked about above is the inadequate actionbar which was partially designed around consoles so they could tag along too, which In my opinion is very poor.
World pvp is non existent
Think about this: you will never in ESO be able to have the fun world pvp many other mmos out there also have had (im deliberately not going to mention wow
) I know many out there dont like world pvp but theres just as many who actually love it and from a logical standpoint it doesnt make sense never to see any enemy than just in Cyrodiil.
Ive always hated PvE servers because the concept is utter stupid as I said above, so you may disagree with me but this is my opinion and I think the decision to make a "cauldron pvp map" like Cyrodiil is will get WAY faster boring than PvP set all over the world, both objective based but also small scale and bottleneck pvp, without going into more into detail with that.
Veteran content"Lets have all the players hit max level (50!) and then go another 10 special "Veteran" levels through all the other factions as a ghost without being able to see any enemy and actually not only destroy faction loyalty but every single piece of logical game design."
Sorry if this line seems a bit harsh...but thats actually another dumbest ever MMO decision ive seen in quite some years. What Zenimax shouldve done, is keep the 50 cap, keep the game difficulty, because hard is awsome, and then maybe made a questing system that made you travel over all of Tamriel freely with the fear of getting ganked, pvp, running, riding or stealth or however you liked.
At the moment the game feels like a super open book...but alot of the chapters in the book are black and unreadable.
Poor guild system/lack of AH.
Why must I be forced to be in guilds that has nothing to do with socialisation/endgame pvE/PvP but just trade and echonomy? Seperate guilds from the money ifnrastructure and make a proper central Auction House and let me keep my guilds to what I actually want them for...my guildies and my friends and the stuff we love to do.
Ingame localisation
Now this is just a minor gripe I have, hence in the end but...whoever decided to make germans and their german clients spam the chat with their items should get some ass whoopin...Im not sure wether this should be classified as a bug or poor design choice, but id say it was intended, so..shame on you Zenimax.
Lets all educate the part of Germany that still cannot fathom the english language and actually have politeness to keep everything in english AND as game developer promote people to communicate in english.
Now you could too say "Well you knew already what the game was designed like!" But I am both an MMO and ES fan at heart and I truly want this game to work..but right now ESO is an ugly child that you both love because the world is so damn awsome and the openness is awsome...but so many issues are prevalent.
To all the players and devs who actually read everything:
congrats, you wont the internets!
