Trade & custom chat channels

In the absence of a global auction house, a global trade channel is highly desirable.

A global trade channel could be GM monitored. Gold spammers could be banned on the spot. Free trade could happen...

We also need the ability to create private password protected chat channels.

I have seen this suggested before, and I agree with it.
I would say a guild recruitment channel would be in order as well.

Sometimes I try to help others in zone chat, and I find it annoying to then have some trade or guild recruitment message pop up and fill the entire chat window when I'm trying to read what someone were saying to me

I don't think a trade channel would hurt guild stores. It would simply encourage crafters and traders.

I agree, the current chat system needs serious revision. You have to wonder what the direction and motivation of the developers is at times.

Yes it would be great to have a dhannel that's not filled with idiot smart ass comments from the kids who proliferate the chat channel.

Thoroughly agree with this bit.

Not sure gm moderation is absolutely necessary, and password protected chat groups would also be more work than they're worth - isn't this what groups/guilds are for?

The ability to create custom chat channels is very much needed. As it is now, we have been creating Guilds just for the channels. Role-Play, Trade, recruitment, etc.

Running out of Guild slots fast, especially for those who play more than one faction. Having the ability to create channels as we need is a pretty basic MMO function and very useful.
