Today I was playing i dungeon doing quest when suddenly i have been kicked out from the server saying that i had exceed message count spamming?! WTF I have berely used mail system and communication what is this now?
Its shame you are not fixing tose client crashing which is very constant and in PvE and PvP especially bad. Not to mention what peoiple see the fast armor decay which need enormous amount of gold to repair which is really stupid! Please think about all of these drops in the sea of problems you have, thank you!

I had this happen to me and I think it's because I was trying to farm a node that was glitched. I tried the "E" key several times on it and got booted with the message that you got.

Yep clearly ZOS have started a personal campaign against keeping you from playing instead of fixing bugs!

I think this is a badly worded error which actually concerns the number of client to server messages and hasn't anything to do with the player sending spam chat etc.

It probably occurs due to bugs where the client constantly sends data to the server about something, but the server isn't in synch and refuses the messages, so client sends again. Once a threshold gets hit, it pops this message and disconnects the client.

Of course, this is just guess work on my part, but it seems to explain the many threads I've seen about this and very similar disconnects.

That's sounds reasonable. It's obviously an automated response that sometimes screws up.

As @Duckfather noted, this is not at all related to typed messages in the chat log, it's messages sent from the client to the server: some people have been kicked and never posted a single chat message the entire session.

I have seen this one too, just once, while in The Rift standing still and not even in the process of using chat functions.

If it persists that would be ticket-worthy, if it's a one-off I'd say relog and move on :)

I just sent an e-mail to them complaining about this too. I'm livid! Since launch I have been helping them fight against gold spammers by reporting them, now I get targetted like you did. They get no more help from me if the reporting system leads to a kick. I wasn't on any nodes I was fighting npc's...!! I said nothing all afternoon to anyone apart from when I said "Hello" to my guild.
Seriously! I'm getting well annoyed at gold spammers and their 'so-called' combat against this.
    Rant over!

First, you clearly don't understand what you actually got disconnected for. It was not for spam or anything of the sort. You got booted for exceeding the "message limit" to the server.

What this means is you exceeded the maximum number of inputs allowed to the server from your client within a certain time period (probably seconds if I had to guess). In this particular case it was caused by a lag spike referenced in a post or two above this one.

If you want to reply to get further explanation, try to be less hyperbolic about it.
