Recent exploits: any ban?

Since the dupe glitch, several other major exploits made it possible for a lot of people to get loots, xp, gold, and skill points in high amounts. Some of these exploits seem to be fixed.

Now what's about all the people who used them? Any ban?

If those who used the exploit are rewarded, most of those who didn't won't hesitate the next time. What are you doing to prevent this game from becoming a permanent exploit race?

The dupe in guild bank exploit resulted in some bans, my guess is that it depended on scale, if you used it generating millions of golds you got banned.
generating an stack of epic tempers for your own use and you got free.

Some others like the repeatable instead of daily pvp quests was not banable as it was not an obvious exploit it worked like it did in beta.
If you run into an world boss who always drop to purple and farm him its not an obvious bug, it could just be an boss with good loot. Getting an quest reward over an over is an obvious bug something like duping more so.

And exploits get patched then discovered, either players has to find new or new content will contain new exploitable bugs.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I do agree to some extent but half the exploits, if not more, were obvious exploits. People were aware of that. They chose to use them repeatedly, over and over. With huge rewards.

My wife left a guild that exploited that dupe glitch.

    None of them were banned.

Some of them are still selling stuff they got from it so they didn't get much in the way of punishment.

The were more different exploits: one let you repeatedly get a skill point, another let you repeatedly get epic loot, lot of xp / gold. Another old one was about a daily quest that could be repeated as long as you want for a lot of xp gains...

But you have to prove they knew it. If I farmed a boss that kept dropping the same purple item, or gave a great amount of XP more than usual, I'd assume it was because of the boss. There are a lot of MMOs that have certain bosses with a guarenteed drop if defeated or a good xp reward if defeated.

Now. If that boss only took 1-5 hits to kill, then I might be thinking it's a bug.

Basically, Zeni doesn't want to do mass bannings unless they are positive it was an exploit and the people they were banning were aware as well. If you get enough people who feel they were wrongfully banned together, the company may be hit with either bad PR or a possible attempt at a class action. Yeah, spout out about internet lowers etc etc, but no company wants a group of players to band against them and make them look bad unless they have 100% definitive proof they knew they were exploiting.

    ...what?

There is no VR12 yet. And that's the only part of that sentence I understood. So I'll leave it at that.

On 100 people, maybe 15 were not aware. All the other were here to exploit. Just look at the numbers: those who got massive gains should have a 1 week ban.
It's too easy to make it looks impossible..

You can be sure that if they do a ban for any exploits, we will hear about it in here with a thread about wrongful bans. That is usually the first indication that there is some sort of widespread ban episode going on. Quite a few people have to be banned before the statistical probability of such a posting rises high enough for us to see it.

As for people getting away with the duping, I suspect that the initial ban wave had rather loose criteria and they tightened up the criteria over time. Most of the worst of them were, and still are, banned, but I expect that the more casual offenders got a pass and a note in their account. I would expect that subsequent bans by these individuals would not be so easily reversed.

Yes, so many people got banned that some innocents got nailed and had to petition to get their accounts back. There was a whole thread about it.

cheaters in this game is rampant. it only affects me in pvp however, which I now stay out of due to the same reason. the good news is cheaters get bored soon and leave. they do need to be more throughough with cheaters, not banning the acct unless its grossly misused, but resetting their chars back to starter status, bank to zero etc. as a penalty

as far as wanting bot money, banning the botters will only increase their sales as the 'legitimate, ie not credit card theives" will buy more subs to bot with. I think this game is diff, trying to have an ideal game without microtransactions, without manipulating quarterly profits by keeping botters etc. it may be naive of them but i am staying to fight the good fight with them

This is a good summary of the current situation. Banning people is always difficult. But then what's about other kind of penalization? They can't be so helpless.

Level 50's 24-36 hours in early access should have been rolled back and/or had an account strike since it was clear by Zenimax it would take about a week of hard core gaming to even get close to that level.

Many people already said the pvp bounty mission was fixed late beta but not fixed in early access release, meaning it was a quest glitch that was massively exploited and they got away with it.

It looks like they just chose the dupe glitch to make some PR and close their eyes for all the other exploits.

Most players don't read updates in detail, even if the week would be read as questing not grinding.

Most of the duped stuff and gold is out into the economy already hard to trace back. Personally I think they should ban all those that cheated. I don't care what you do with your character but it trickles down into the economy that is already screwy in game.
