I honestly had no idea until I happened to come across the same cotton node I picked, thinking it was a new spawn and saw the worms I left in it.

People probably leave the worms because their bags are full and they don't feel like deleting an item, looting the worms and the resource and then deleting the worms. That's why I leave worms sometimes. So...apologies

MercyKilling✭✭✭✭✭It's an add on that only harvests the crafting materials that people have installed.I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
3) Difficulty slider.
4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.0 -

The only method I've seen addons use is to loot it, then instantly delete it, so it doesn't leave anything behind.[beta_group_85b_9]0 -
TheRedMage✭✭✭Very rarely have I run into this, but it's happened. My problem is seeing a node (but it doesn't have that glow around it like it should since I put a skill point in keen eye) and so I go up and begin to pick it, and it simply disappears.
Fairly certain this is due to map hacking/teleporting bots as usually when that happens i see a random gibberish lowercase name.

And Blizzard eventually made it so that a stone-only node would despawn after a few minutes. That was handy.Every time someone swears, it gets replaced with three asterisks. There's only one three-letter swear word that I know of. I read that in the place of every set of three asterisks. It makes for some amusing sentences.0 -

VampiricOmen✭✭✭Okay, I'm guilty of this and I did not know it caused this much grief to other players. When I harvest nodes I'll start at one end of the map and slowly travel through the area harvesting every node I see. When my bags reach maximum capacity with items I want to keep, I figure if I only loot the nodes I've got stacked items of, I can bank everything when I get bored of harvesting. I also have auto loot on so once I hear the sound of items being looted, I move on.
I'm sorry people, I'll take the worms and crawlers in future. If only we could destroy the item without actually picking it up, like a drag and drop feature in the loot window.1 -

If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't know about it and it definitely wouldn't occur to me that the node system would be so archaic that it would leave my partially looted node available for other players. Absolutely agree. When I caught my first longfin I got excited thinking I was going to have some tasty mackerel type dish for my Templar to eat...considering the fish sold for more gold than any mob drops.
Sadly I can't even smack any Bretons with them. Useless apparently.1 -
