Denied a refund

Reason was because I bought the game 15 days ago, yet I've hardly played due to issues.

Not happy at all.

So anyone else wanting a refund, do so sooner rather than later.

Before you close your account, can I get all the runes, wood and clothier stuff you might have?
"In 2014, a possible bot was sent to coldharbour by a military GM for a crime she didn't commit. This argonian promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Ebonheart underground. Today, still wanted by the developers she survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a bot problem, if no one else can bite you, and if you can find her....maybe you can hire The SQUISHY."

There's a 14 day refund in select regions. Just FYI.
  • Sorcerious
And even the 14 days is already generous... Many (web)shops in my country only apply a 7 days refund period for 'buyers remorse'.

@d0e1ow: There is no singular thing within a game's little ecosystem that will convince you that you hate the game, hate your life, and hate everyone around you faster than the game's official forums will.

@TaffyIX: Life is too short to get upset by a video game.

Why in the world should they give you a refund? Its not there problem you have hardly played in the last 15 days.

And you get 30 days game time when you buy the game so you still have another 15 days to play and you can sub if you want to play longer then that.

No need to be like that. I haven't been able to play much due to issues of the game.

So you cant play the game for weeks and ask for a refund?

The audacity of these punks at ZOS. That's almost as bad as their decision not to give the game away for free.

If you really wanted a refund, you shouldn't have waited 15 days to do so.
Not the retailer's problem for not wanting to refund your game, it's your problem for being lazy.

You order a cheese burger but get a chickenburger... you don't it more then half of it before sending it back saying it's not what you ordered
The statement "if you put enough monkeys behind enough typewriters... sooner or later one will produce the works of Shakespeare" has sadly been proven utterly wrong by the internet...

It's called giving them the benifit of the doubt and I wanted the game to work. Not quit in the first few days.

I do understand that it was not intended as such, but the quote 'Not happy at all.' does imply you're unhappy with Zenimax not giving you a refund while you haven't done it within the allocated timeframe... so you're at fault really :).

People who truly wanted a refund have already done so, no need to open yet another useless thread that will get buried under 'ZENI FIX MAH GAME I PAYED $60 FOR' or 'CANT PLAI DUE BOTS HELP ZENI XOXOXOXO'.

While I still believe the game to be quite bugged and not release worthy, you should had known that nothing this major would get fixed in "days", this kind of stuff will take a few months to sort out, would advise to try again in 2-3 months and see how it goes then.

some countries (such as australia) look at TOS as inapplicable where services provided contravene national law.
credit card companies can also enforce a refund where it is found the product was advertised in a misleading manner, or goods or services provided were sub par to what the customer was lead to believe they were purchasing.

I would love for ZOS to provide us with your login activity. I've yet to hear about someone not being able to access the game during all this time.

Either your computer is just terrible or you've played for a few days and finally found out you didn't like the game, so you took far too long to go ahead and contact them.

So unfortunately at the end of the day this is your responsibility to contact them within the timeframe mentioned within their Terms of Use/EULA and not Zenimax to poke players and say "By the way you've only got 2 days left to contact us, if you want a refund!".

Depends on your country but you might have the law on your side if you reside in the EU.

    To put in simply

Any part of the EULA that contradicts the laws of your country is invalid.

As much as I believe in consumer protection laws and the right to avenues like refunds...there comes a point in my mind where a small amount of research would enable a far wiser purchasing decision. I made the choice to buy an Imperial edition and furthermore have made the choice to subscribe (utilising the longterm sub model). I made those decisions completely cognizant of the facts that ESO was inherently buggy, that MMO's (with the exception of Rift - original) invariably launch with multiple game breaking issues and that many people who initially sign up evaporate after the free period (and in many cases obtain a refund).

The warning signs about ESO's release has been out there in the real world for quite a while - indeed with each beta approaching the pre-release those warnings and knells of doom became louder. I am sorry you did not get a refund and I appreciate that you wanted to tell people to get a refund before it was too late...but seriously just do the following in future:

Know what it is that you are buying (which also means don't listen to the PR BS of the seller) in other words "Caveat emptor" (which by the way has been around since medieval times...so it's not like a "new" thing.

Some truth here. $100 is not going to break this old time gamer (nerd?). For me, the disappointment is not the pecuniary loss; this game has so much potential that its not capitalising on.
