Well, yes, your teammate(s) turning into the invisible chevron(s) most of the time you try and do anything together is quite annoying. This is one of the things that tanked The Old Republic: it was all single-player quests and fancy voiceovers, and people decided not to pay $15 a month for a single player game. Hopefully Zenimax can open up some of ESO before too many people catch on and bail out.

I've given up on any grouping content in this game. I've never once gotten it to work. If you try to group up half of your group never phases into the right layer properly. Ever. Not once. It's never happened in the 10 - 15 times I've tried with various groups.

Landscape stuff can be done slightly socially but there's no reason to group for anchors or boss fights. As long as people are there, you can dps anything down in this game.

I've not tried PVP yet because I'm only level 16 as I get to play about twice a week due to the servers being down every 6 hours and when they are up, I get stuck in loading screens so often I just get bored and quit.
tell me an mmo where you could have someone just join you on your quest line no matter what stage they were in?
LOTRO & SWToR both come to mind. In fact, that's one of the huge pluses LOTRO has going for it.

Foräois - Imperial Sorcerer of Ineptitude.
Widoch - Nord Dragon Knight of Ignorance.
Billy Bob - Dunmer Templar of Chicken and Noodles.
    Blades of Vengeance

the only part that must be done solo is the main quest line and some of the fighters guild and mages guild quests. I pretty much did the rest with my husband (you don't get a experience penalty for being grouped)

Miss, Idk what game you are playing or if you have even played solo.

You level 10x faster un grouped running quests, killing npcs, or bosses.

That hasn't been my experience. I level faster in groups b/c of the xp bonus. The thing is, the person you're running with just has to keep up with you. I never slow down - so if I've picked up some random, they usually get left behind. I'm pretty sure the xp bonus for being grouped is still there, though. I just skip ahead in the story and continue to enjoy the xp bonus.
War, give me war, give me war.

Phased quests allow for a changing world, which is a crucial part of the Elder Scrolls series. And a justice system is coming in a later content update.

    I disagree.
I'd really like to be able to play with my friends, but phasing keeps us apart during missions. All I ever get is a white arrow/chevron that follows me around as I do quests....even if I repeatedly use the "travel to" option.
It's one of my biggest gripes about the game. It's an MMO that forces you into solo adventuring by having REALLY CRAPPY grouping options.

I don't see how you can "disagree" when they were just stating a fact. There weren't taking a stance of phasing over grouping.

Phased quests allows an MMO to be more dynamic. That is something that people have been wanting in an MMO for years. It allows for things you have done to actually have an impact on the world, at least as you see it. That is something that has really only existed previously in instanced areas of MMO's.

Clearly, though, there is an unwanted, and extremely detrimental, side effect. It is hard to believe that this was not a foreseeable issue. Hopefully it is something they can resolve.

you make some good points however I Like the idea of having your own choices that affect the world around you; but that doesnt mean your friends should be invisible to you in certain areas since they made a different choice at some point in the game.

    Its a balance.

For every thread that complains a "massively multiplayer" game is too solo there is another complaining that it is not solo enough.

Right, which is why I referred to it as a "unwanted, and extremely detrimental, side effect". I doubt, very much, that it was their intention to make group members invisible to each other. It is a side effect of the phasing system. One that needs to be fixed.
