Imperial Gear

I've done now two tickets about the fact that even though I do have CE, I cannot craft Imperial items, or is it that I must be Imperial to get the bonus? Could someone clarify, thanks.

Anyways, here is the response I've gotten twice.

Greetings Adventurer!

Thanks for contacting the Elder Scrolls Online Team.

There are two different ways that players will be able to create Imperial gear in game. But players will need to be playing with a character of the Imperial race to access these crafting options.

Collect Nickel throughout Tamriel and go to any crafting table (must match the type of gear players are trying to modify) to create weapons or armor
Select any weapon or armor in their inventory, right click and select "Convert to Imperial Style"

These items will not be limited to characters of the Imperial race; however, once converted, an item becomes bound to the account. Imperial converted items cannot be traded or purchased by players who did not purchase the Imperial Edition. Those players will need to buy goods from Imperial crafters.
If players do not have access to play as an Imperial character, they must find the Imperial racial style book while exploring Tamriel in order to craft Imperial style armor.

If there is anything else I can help you with please don't hesitate to contact me anytime!

May Sheogorath tremble in your presence

If it requires that we BE Imperial to craft Imperial styled gear - than why is it listed as a Separate Feature on the purchase page?

There are exactly 6 things listed.
    Play as Imperial
    Pet Mudcrab
    Rings of Mara
    Imperial Horse
Craft Items Using Imperial Style !
    and
    Convert Items TO Imperial Style

If they intended that we BE Imperial to craft that style - why list it as a Separate feature? Every race can craft in their own style automatically, it wouldn't BE a feature, it would just be part of Being the Race.

It doesn't require we BE Imperial to use the Imperial Horse, so why should any other feature require that?

And before anyone thinks to suggest a Motif book - This is listed ONLY On the collectors edition features. Motifs apply to Standard accounts as well.

I have a ticket in for the same thing, and got the Same response - I replied and will continue to reply until this is resolved.

Even if you don't Like the style - even if you think it's trivial... It is a feature we were told would be included with a purchase, and has so far not been provided.

The ability to craft Imperial gear comes from being an Imperial toon OR finding an Imperial Motif book. If you have the imperial version of the game, you are able to craft any gear and CONVERT that gear to the imperial appearance.

    Already answered to Both statements.
#1 - If we have to BE Imperial to craft imperial, why then do we not have to BE Imperial to use the Imperial Horse?

Both are listed as features, both are listed separate from all others.

#2 - Motifs apply to ALL accounts, this is indicated Only On the collectors edition. If it were about Motifs, it would be listed on Both types as features.

Since people are going to comment without going to look - and continue making statements that don't take the actual information into account..
This is a screenshot of the list of features taken from the purchase page.

Who cares why you need to be an Imperial to craft Imperial items.
That's not what the OP asked.
He asked if you need to be an Imperial in order to craft the Imperial style.

The answer is yes. You can also craft it if you find the Imperial motif book.

Idon't see why people make such a hassle about it. Imperial looks really ugly until you get high tier heavy armor. It looks horrible on light/medium armor.

Besides, everyone is going to wear barbaric/primal/daedric anyway once they get their veteran hands on those motifs.
    Currently playing:
    Swims-In-Sap - CP200+ - Argonian Templar

I like my healing like i like my characters: generic

My bosmer main character can convert the appearance of most items to the imperial style, the downside is that such an item is account locked and cant be given away. But yes, I don't have to wear the bosmer leather bondage outfit as I converted it all to imperial style.

What you do is simply right click on an item in your inventory and select the option to convert it to Imperial style. As I said it works on most armor and weapons.

I kind of agree with OP this was a bit confusing. I read everything and even payed attention to the subscription and valid payment method required for the 30 days and understood it, yet this still confused me as well I thought my High Elf would be able to craft Imperial as well. (There were High Elves in the Empire after all, Mannimarco for one).

Further, is there actually an Imperial Motif in the game? Not so sure as I have been playing since EA and have yet to see one myself or even for sale at all. If it does exist it is the rarest of all Motif by a LONG shot. Seen Deadric, Barabiran, Ancient Elf, Primal ... have yet to see an Imperial one. If you have proof it is in game I would love to see it.

IF converting to Imperial did NOT bind the gear to you, this would not even be an issue since it does it is.
