Kind of funny that 10 years ago game companies warned you about account and personal info getting stolen from buying gold but now you never hear a peep and they are everywhere...seems like the sellers are the only ones profiting

In Sheoghorath Tongue now there are 20 bots camping on the boss. Please let it stop!

There was a bot in Bleakrock yesterday, node hopping a small area, but she wasn't actually looting any of the items. She was in an endless loop. Mining, picking plants, but not actually bagging them.

Pretty twisted seeing that in a game.

Foolproof system to take care of bots in dungeons
Very little is proof from fools ;)

In this case tho, it - as so many other suggestions - harms the Players to stop the Bots.

And you're missing some requisite data to formulate a plan I think..
These people have access to hacks that allow instant teleportation anywhere within a zone - they could warp to the door, exit and re-enter.. as part of the script they run.
If they made it cycle through the characters, they could simply add 1 bot account to what they use now, and achieve the same results they are currently getting.

It sounds a good plan, but these people spend a lot of time, money, and effort - on making sure they are able to circumvent any software-based solution.

... which is why I becoming more and more angry that Zenimax continues to ignore/refuse the Human solution of GMs.

This reminds me of the Holocaust deniers, despite the fact that there is photographic evidence that the Holocaust was real.

There are bots everywhere, yet fanboys are trying to claim that they don't exist, or barely exist? Unbelievable.

Botting is successful because public respawning relootable bosses are an open goal. Instance each final boss and limit drops to once a day and the dungeon problem is solved.

But in the end they need to get on top of players reports and deal with bots quickly.

Bots are the sign of ill considered design decisions. Lotro for instance is not plagued by them because the valuable loot is instances and time gated. I played for 6 years and never noticed any bots. I am sure there were probably some but it just wasn't a big issue.

Here there are more bots than players in any public dungeon. Never seen anything like it in any game I have played.

I read the proposed fix that ESO is going to take on limiting the amount of loot you can take in a certain amount of time... How is that going to fix the bot problem? The issue is that most people can't get a kill on the boss (not talking about getting credit for the kill); I'm talking about getting some loot for a person who's at the keyboard. Even with a timer the 18 bots (like in the dungeon I just left) will prevent a player from even getting loot because the bots destroy the boss within 2 seconds of the spawn. I'll never reach the timer because I can't out kill them. This is not a fix... Go back to the drawing board and come up with a better solution. I'm not opposed to a person who's at the keyboard getting loot. I'm not interested in paying a monthly fee to be punished because you can't take a stand against AFK bots.

    ...

    You want diminishing returns system.

There is a 10 minute loot window. If they kill the boss within that window, then window is refreshed.

Each time they kill the boss during the window, the chance of gaining loot is diminished until the point that they no longer get loot.

If they leave for long enough that the window expires, then the loot table is restored to normal.

This is BY FAR the most optimal and fair solution to this problem.

I have been in several public dungeons in ebon pact and in aldmeri dominion and in every one that I have been, 10-15 bots with aaaawwaaa names are there, mostly templars who kill that mini boss with that spear skill under 1 second

I am not playing as the bots make the dungeons an awful experience. Pity that a nice game was broken by stupid people.

Also, i noticed you posted a very similar thread to this one (damn near identical) and whats worse is you posted it 2 minutes after commenting on this one according to the time stamps. Forums will always tell you to find and post within a thread covering your topic of concern before attempting to create your own thread to avoid spamming. You are intentionally spamming as it appears..

Are you really making an issue because some one posted their own thread...most forums would be against you ACCUSING people of wrong doing!!!

Not cool to try to get people in trouble cause you don't agree with them

I never disagreed with the OP, i only briefly stated my opinion on priorities then listed informative reasons for his problem not being solved. I'm not trying to get him in trouble, i am merely letting him know to prevent him from getting into actual trouble.. My tone wasn't the most positive in voicing my initial opinion but dealing with multiple friends stuck in the ocean of appeals for over a week, and seeing someone being so aggravated over something so simple as a couple specific bots when there are more pressing matters at hand gets me aggravated too. I think Zeni gets it, there are over a hundred threads on this topic already..

From what I've heard, it isn't really the loot these guys are after. It's soulgems. Soulgems are worth a lot when you sell them to merchants. The bots are farming for soulgems to fund the gold they end up selling.

Perhaps you should only get one soulgem per boss?

have you guys been to starting areas lately?
I've decided to create an alt, but Stros M'kai was literally FULL of bots farming crafting materials to sell for gold..

I'd say, from the look of how those bots react, that they have pretty *** awesomely good AI, but we need them GONE. If they aren't gone by the end of the month, this game is going to die!

Yesterday evening I went to a crypt... it wasn't a solo crypt, so I wanted to group up with other guys there, but in that overcrowded place I only found 2 other players... in a group of like 150 bots farming greens in a group crypt where spawns take about 1 minute..

I agree 100% , and i want to add an update to this thread. After hearing probably 1 000 000 complaints, Zenimax decides to do the unthinkable , and send an ACTUAL GM INGAME!!! WOW!!! YEEEEEEHAA!! So , they write in big yellow letters all over the screen that : Gamemaster Bot-Smasher will be banning BOT-s ingame , send him a whisper with the bot's name. Coincidence was that atm i was in a open dungeon in Greenshade, trying for 30 mins to get a boss kill for a quest , looking at around 5 bots infront of me , stealing kills and farming for soul gems and a blue item hat, so i was all excited saying ,finally ,they listen , they arent that bad! But guess what happened then, YOU ACTUALLY COULDN'T SEND A WHISPER TO THE SO CALLED GM!! I mean , WTF???? That made me start thinking about their experties in software, as how can you do smthing without even testing it first? It would be like a FMCG company would start selling chocolate that tasted like pig fat, because they didnt try it first..1 week left before subscription period is over, and im counting down the days in this game, THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I'LL CONTINUE MY SUBSCRIPTION IF I SEE in the upcoming week SAME BOTS I'VE REPORTED ,AND I'VE REPORTED OVER 50 OF THEM (took a while of my paid game time to do so, which ofcourse i wont be refunded). Not to say I'm just complaining ,I'll offer to Zenimax 2 reasonable solutions they should really reconsider.
Option 1. Make a PVP timer in a dungeon , 30 minutes should cover it, whichever character spends more then 30 minutes in one open dungeon, it becomes open for PVP kill and drops ALL his loot ( that part is debatable , but i would allow it as a punishment , as that would punish camping and force players to actually play the game..)
Option 2. A 24/7 available ingame GM , or even a few of them, who will be in charge off resolving cheaters/botters/spammers issues sent by players via whisper or tickets. They would have to actually do some work , and make sure they aren't banning a real player , although i really think it's not nuclear physics to notice a difference between a BOT , and a real player, because punishment for banning a rl player should be severe for them (just to prevent sadism), plus once they notice a BOT , take away that players rest of game time, so that in 15 mins , we don't see a new one.
Rethink that 2 options , i think it will cost you much much less then the amount of subscription you will lose in the next few weeks because of the BOT*s issue , which basically Zenimax hasn*t done anything about , in 1 month...And all this excuses i read , this is a MMORPG launch-it's expected to be this way,be patient.... , it was like that in WOW too... just doesnt cut it for me. I didn't play WOW BECAUSE OF THE CHEATERS, I STARTED PLAYING ESO AS I'VE EXPECTED IT TO BE DIFFERENT THEN ALL OTHER MMORPG'S!!! I HOPE IT WILL BE. ZENIMAX HAS 1 MORE WEEK TO PROVE IT TO ME, OR THEY WONT SEE ANYMORE OF MY THREADS , or money for that matter B)
