ESO.ese has stopped working... almost every 10 minutes

Is anything done to address this? I can play the game, sometimes for quite a while, but eventually it crashes. Other times it crashes again 10 minutes after the first crash.

I've tried repair, even deleted eso.exe to re-download it. I've also updated all my system drivers including NVIDIA video and running eso.exe as admin mode.

I do not have any A/V running nor any firewall.

Any other ideas how to fix this?

I've done all of those things and am still having this very same issue. Also... now when I try to log in I'm asked to enter an access code for a computer that I've used since the first beta!! What the hell!

This was happening to me, and it was due to my graphics card overheating. All I did was change my performance a bit so that ESO had a bit less resources dedicated to it. Not sure if this will help you, but with the exact same issues your having, it worked for me!

Hope you get it all sorted out soon :(

Anyone having similar problems clearly needs to provide MUCH more details about his PC and configuration, else nobody can help for real.

I can tell though that I know of plenty not properly built PCs that gave up on ESO due to overheating, e.g. improperly overclocked ones, poorly cooled ones, some with bad power supplies, etc. To make sure everything is in order with one's PCs there's plenty of test programs and guides in the net - no point in repeating them here.

A game as demanding as ESO will get many PCs to - or beyond - their limits, so consider it a hardware test in a way. (Though there's much more demanding games out there)

In regards to crashes: Those I know using properly built only occasionally had a crash every couple of days despite playing truly much.

On the other hand, not having a AV software or a firewall can cause these issues already, it's clearly not recommendable to do so !

    Hope this helps.

I can run Skyrim with 4k textures and the ENB series and lots of other mods all day without overheating or even crashing. This game doesn't stress my system as much as that does. The temps never gets anywhere near problematic.

I'll give the XP SP3 mode a try but realistically the game client needs a fix.

Forgot to note: I played beta and early access and had no crashes. It wasn't until a patch about 2 weeks ago that these crashes started for me.

Skyrim is no measure for ESO at all due to using totally different engines, but I'd confirm that things go worse and worse for me with each patch for a while now - though I only once crashed since Early Access (which was recently, indeed!).

Yet, to actually be of help to the developers, none of this has any meaning if the ones having problems don't provide full system specs and configuration. Just saying... If you want to help do this - else we can just close this thread as being yet another venting place.

Also you ignored the major potential (likely!) problem of not using AV/FW software at all, which could have your PC being infected until it crashes. I consider a virus check and posting the results being the least to do, so we can be sure that there's no problem from that side.

This particular PC doesn't access the net except for game server access. I do regularly run scans though just in case. It is completely clean.

    i7 4770 CPU
    GTX 770
    8GB Ram
    Realtek HD sound
    Win 8.1 x64

Nothing is overcooked, all up to date. FWIW, I've done computer/network support for a couple decades now and built many PCs as well. I know how to tell if my PC is causing problems.

My best guess is ESO isn't getting along w/ graphics drivers, but all the crashes don't indicate any NVIDIA files.

All of my "crashes upon crashes" were hardware related. Nothing to do with Windows or the game.
