So how many MMO's have you played that schedules maintenance on a Friday? Or for that matter has two maintenance windows a week?

I've played plenty of MMOs that I wish had implemented 2-a-week maintenance at launch. Launch period is the worst period for bugs, and I'd rather have more maintenance time now than a longer period of time dealing with bugs.

Ok so let me process this thought…..and don't take this wrong this is just how my lizard brain works.

They are suppose to ignore the dozen so posts and countless number of bug reports on quests and bugs that are game breaking …Hold off hot fixes because it is not a normal maintenance day?

So if they leave the game up and you jump in game, on your day of all excited to get some lovely game time in skipping merrily to your next quest and BAM one of those bugs smacks you down you can't progress or you lose something ect ect ect … take your choice of bugs… Then rush to forums to go off on a rant because they won't fix the bugs…It's your day off you are stuck or lost something the game sucks boohoo hoo fix your <insert word here> game … either way most likely a rant.

I might be wrong here but sounds to me like they are damned if they do damned if they don’t. I am personally going with fix the bugs …

i disagree. most of the bugs that have been plaguing this game should have been fixed in beta. the load screen didnt happen in beta so that couldnt have been fixed.

Bugged quests, botting, spamming all these things should have been addressed in beta.

Ah, just how every other MMO is able to "fix it in beta"?

Some bugs cannot be fixed before launch. Some bugs were fixed, and new bugs came up. And botters/spammers cannot be "fixed" overnight, or within a month, or a year, or a decade.

well none on a friday ( which i agree is very strange ) really but all MMos i have played have had maintenance downtime, most have had atleast 2 a week after release of game or xpac for a while

The devs really are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

If they only do once-a-week maintenance right now, then the forums would be filled with "Why won't the Devs fix bugs"" posts. If they fix the bugs, we get these "Why so much maintenance?" posts. Personally, I'd rather have maintenance fixing bugs than have to deal with the bugs constantly.

Granted, it would be REALLY nice if a game launched with no bugs/exploits possible, but since that will never happen and has never happened, I'd rather the Devs choose maintenance.

Already been at this point and still the quest is bugged and its been like this since beta. This game should have NEVER been released with this many bugged quests, item duping (was reported in beta), chat spamming, botting problems (was addressed in beta).

most of the problems they are trying to fix wouldn't need to be fixed if this game was in beta longer and wasn't rushed.

Most (if not all) quest bugs in beta were related to a single phasing issue. They fixed it. Other bugs then came to light after that issue was removed.

That said, I've had one quest that I couldn't complete in 48 levels of content. And I've only run in to a handful more that had anything resembling a bugged mechanic.

And, as always, spam and bots will never be "fixed". WoW has been dealing with these issues for a decade. This game has been out for 2 weeks. What kind of magic are you expecting?

I won't disagree with you about the bugs before in beta.

Maybe they could have... would have... should have …but to be honest they didn't and I have never seen a game launch in past 9 to 10 years I have played mmo's that has ever launched with out major problems.

Honestly it looks terrible but compared to Aoc and even rifts launch this was pretty smooth, for me any way, but I have noticed a pattern. I don't play near the amount of time as some and seems that most that are running into bugs are the ones that are playing more hours higher levels. Maybe I am just lucky enough that I am just in that window of time where bugs have not really had much effect on my game play or I have just been really really lucky. The only bugs that have hit me are the load screen ones.

Most my problem is with the dang botters and spammers…gawds what I would not give for an electrocute computer hooked to my ignore button sometimes…anyway back to topic.

Yes I agree it is terrible and I feel your pain … honestly I do but always a positive in a negative somewhere and if it is to much of a hassle take a break till they get the game straight and come back when they do. (Not meant sarcastic was being sincere) I had to do that in aoc with the *** fest fiasco….came back a few weeks later when game was much smoother…

I hope day gets better and game comes up soon so you can merrily hunt and quest 
    Happy Hunting

That must be where I Lost all my luck in that one .. Rifts launch, for me was horrid...still not as bad as aoc but bad. I had early access and where we downloaded the beta and patched over to dl the full game it screwed up a ton of stuff... then they screwed up the billing system ...My toon was stuck forever in a loading world in limbo... was bad for me lol ..that's what I get for playing a defiant

eso has been my good launch one. My luck has been pretty decent here with bugs for a launch.

Over all ESO has had a good launch not the best launch but hell the servers work and with the new Megaserver i'm impressed. WoW servers crashed with 10k people on it when it first launched lol.

Yeah sucks but from looking at the eu down time it was only down about an hour and half...keeping fingers crossed thats what na is.

That is just enough time to fix breakfast ( dinner for me worked last night) and shower before I play an hour or so before I sleep.
