NPC's/Enemies/Area's not loading?

Can someone help, none of the NPC's/enemies or area's (The zone itself loads, but no architecture/items load) are loading? They are there on my compass, and can physically attack me, but I cannot see them.
The issue isn't with my computer as my computer beats the minimum system requirements.
Players load and move around fine, no problem.
The game itself funs smoothly, no lag, or FPS drops, very free flowing.
I just have the issue of nothing appearing.
I've tried relogging, changing all settings to minimum, etc,
nothing has worked.
I contacted ZOS and they told me to run repair in launcher, which I've done and I'm now downloading a 5gb download, is this right? How can the game install missing 5gb worth of data?! Will this fix my issue?
We have contacted our Customer support team to help you solve your issue.

I am having the same issue tonight. I cannot see what is attacking me. I'm assuming on my side that its my internet. I will run my repair and see what happens. I hope they find a solution for you.

I'm willing to be patient on this issue and am downloading a mac update. I'll also try the launch repair, but the sheer consistency of this bug makes the game completely unplayable. After about 2 hours in Cyrodiil I simply quit after getting killed by zergs of 30-40 invisible players, time and time again.
I'm just a banana from another dimension.

Ive noticed a HUGE increase in the time it takes to my client to load a few npcs/players in a zone even when its far from crowded.

I assume its related to the alreadyreported latency issues post-maint.

I read some posts here on this forums that this could be due to an addon. Did you try disabling your addons and see if it helps?

If it does, then you can enable them back one by one to see which is the culprit and see if an updated version is available.

Well Im not at home now but I never had this issue before since installed the last addon long ago. Dont use that many either, but might be someone forgot to update something important in the addon.

This happened to me last night. Well not the buildings, but a lot of the NPC's just disappeared. They were there, because I could run into them, but I could not see them. Ended up dying to an invisible mob trying to figure it out. Was trying to complete a quest and the NPC was invisible, so frustrating. I had put in ticket, but I realized it might be latency, so I just logged out and played another character for 15 minutes, came back and everything was normal.

Hello everybody! I have a fix, though it may not work for everyone as it is for Windows 8.1 and a NVIDIA Graphics Card. But I think the general processes should all be the same no matter your OS. You'll just have to go to different places to find the files and screens.

I am running ESO on a Windows 8.1 computer I bought specifically to play ESO on. When I encountered issues with NPCs not appearing and loading screens that went on for hours I investigated the forums and followed these steps which fixed my problem:

1- Firstly disabling GPUSmoothing by going into the Usersettings.txt in the Elder Scrolls Online folder in my documents and changing the value in this line SET GPUSmoothingFrames "10" To "0"
    This helped with the Frame-rate.

Now to deal with the invisible NPCs. For this - a number of steps were involved.
2- To Check everything was up to date. .Net Framwork, C++, your graphics card and DirectX.

.NET Framework is from Microsoft so search for it in their Download Center.

You can get Visual C++, here.

For your graphics card go into control panel and search for device manager. Open it and you should have a system tree of everything from Audio drivers to USB ports on your screen. Expand the display adapter branch and right click on your graphics card. On the menu that comes up click "Update Diver Software"

You can scan your computer and download any DirectX updates needed here.

3- The Graphics Card. Now this is where you'll start to make a big difference in your game. Firstly go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client and right click on the eso.exe file. You should see an option called "Run with Graphics Processor" click it and then select whichever option is the "High Performance" or something similar. This should take you to the screen of your graphics card driver. Here you should have two tabs global and program settings. Or at least that is how it is with Nvidia cards. I'm afraid I don't have any experience with other designs. It's up to you if you want to set everything globally to high performance or if you just want to do it for ESO. If you just want to do it for ESO select it from the drop-down list in Program Settings (Or click browse and select the eso.exe file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client again). Then don't alter anything in the lower section about the seperate settings (Anti-aliasing, Anisotropic and the such as this should all be done in game not from the graphics card) just select the High Performance option as the "Preferred Graphics Processor for this program."
Feel free to tinker with the rest to see what works for you.

4- Always run as administrator. This isn't an essential but it can sometimes help with processes not getting blocked or bogged down unnecessarily. Better safe than sorry I say. So just go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client and right click on the eso.exe file again. Only this time go into the properties and go into the compatibility tab and click the "Run this program as Administrator" checkbox. Also if it helps you sleep better at night you can make ESo run in compatibility mode for whatever version of windows you're running. I don't think it makes any difference really but... Eh.

So anyway that's what got results for me and I hope it gets results for you as well!

Just for reference I'm running Windows 8.1 with a NVIDIA GeForce 840 so these instructions may not be quite valid or everyone but I recommend you get the basic gist of what you're trying to get to and search the internet for where you need to go.

    Hope it helps!

Any questions or problems please feel free to PM me and if you want to send me love in the form of a 60 Day Game time code - well I ain't refusing!

Thank you and Best of Days to you all.
