VR10 already? How?

I'm curious how people get to VR10 so quickly. Do you guys just rush through the quests? Grind for xp in a particular area? Become emperor of Cyrodiil?

It's not that I want to copy your process, I'm happy plugging away at my own pace. I'm just curious how you do it so quickly.

I'm willing to guess most of the VR 10' either don't care for the story as you stated, see ESO as another mmorpg, an rush, or a vast portion of people have played Beta's, or the PST, and have nothing new to experiment with, and have already heard the storyline.

My main guess would be people who have been live streaming the PTS, have already stated theres' nothing new for them, thus they will rush to V10.

A lot of people have been actively using PvP quests for leveling until they've been made daily.

Yeah, I'm level 27 at the moment, taking it at a reasonable pace. I do have a level 16 alt though. Getting up to the VRs at this point means you're playing a ridiculous amount or you're rushing the story as fast as possible. If that's how you want to play, it's fine, but it certainly isn't anything except a huge amount of time invested.

I think most VR10s got there in the very first days when chaining monsters inside dungeons payed very good xp (veteran points too).

Now the exp got nerfed badly, its much slower, and you can only grind quests so fast without stepping into a bug >.<
Im nerding quite hard for the holidays but every single veteran rank is a pain in the ass (takes a full day of gaming).

11 days (almost 12) out of 17 days since release....... (22 if you include 5 day EA).

Still either way you look at it, that's an avg. of around 12-18 hours a day, depending on EA . WoWoW

Been VR10 for a while, haven't actively played in a few days. Ignored story, stories are for single player games, MMOs should be about persistent worlds.

    Game is boring, not resubbing.

For those who like quests, you'll love VR ranks, it's about as quest grindy as you can get.

Well, Elder Scrolls have always been quest-based so it really didn't come as surprise. And you really should have listened and experienced the story, it's quite interesting and enjoyable.

    That's nice to hear.

I look forward to the later levels then, sounds like my cup of tea. Afterall don't want to get to max level in 3 weeks of playing otherwise I too wouldn't be able to justify the 8.99 a month to play this game...

WoW! That's some serious time you have invested there. A word of caution from someone who's 43 and used to play wow for 18 hours a day. It will damage your health! You may think its not doing you any harm in the short term but long term it will destroy your health!

18 hours a day? Dang I am lucky I can squeeze in 2 a day solid playtime. I know and understand that is how some players choose to play the game and i respect that.

I am curious as to why you rush? I am not trolling not being sarcastic ,I am just curious. I take my time enjoy it stop to smell the flowers and explore every nook and crany. I will forget to finish a quest to see whats over behind that hill or distracted by something shiny. Thats why i am just in my 20's still and a low lvl alt

Once you burn up content in a few days what do you do ? Roll alts ? I seen some say the were not resubbing? Lol I do not mean to sound trollish but it is almost like an addict searching for a bigger fix and moves on.

Reminds me of that old joke about smoking...

I smoked 15 cigars a day for 50 years and never got addicted.

There's been plenty of games I've found boring, so I stopped playing them after just a few minutes (or at most hours). You've played ESO relentlessly day in and day out since launch and find it boring? I think we have different definitions of boring.

It's the way of the MMO e-peener. Rush to the cap, strut around showing of their [perceived] awesomeness, complain there is no content, and move on to another game. They are not the norm and to the rest of the community a distraction, even though mostly insignificant. It's been the same in just about every MMO since 2004.

    Meh.

I can understand if they are bored of the game. You spend 10 -18 hours a day glued to a computer game for any amount of time; I can't imagine not being sick of it.

It's like cake we all love it but eat a whole cake and not a slice you will get sick of it. I know some people that’s all they do is game (still have gamer friends and that is all they do) and hey if that is how you want to spend your time and money it is a free world. I will never tell anyone how to live and what to do.

    BUT for me personally...

I use to be one of those hard core gamers back in the day ( only 27 ) but I do remember having more free time and I spent it raiding hour after hour after hour …I loved my time in game . Now a days (and this was about 7 to 8 years ago till about 4 years ago) I can't sit longer than two hours and I need fresh air or something. I have no kids and no I am not married (only to Uncle Sam ) so my free time is pretty much mine. I still only manage a couple hours (2 tops) maybe a day and that is not everyday.

Might take me forever but I will get there at some point. I play with a group of friends so I am sure they will push me a tad bit to get on a little more, but summer is coming up and my days off I plan on being at the beach( lol I don't mind working nights in the summer my days are free)…they will have to get me on rainy days … I love the game no hurry for me I am enjoying every bit I can of it. I am an achievement junkie.

I rush because I have another character I only play when 2 of my friends are on. That one we level together and actually deal with the story. Currently level 42, and our story mode characters are level 18.

..and here ladies and gentlemen I point your direction towards exhibit A.

    The Disinterested power gamer.

An interesting specimen who seem to spawn in mmorpg's attracted to the availability of "pwn ftw" win and who click through any given quest content (which the many talented voice actors have taken the time to act the quests out very, very well)faster than a pubescent teen who's found a new *** site.

In regards to Mmorpgs post WoW with 24/7 power gamers: If you build it they will come.

There is a bright side however, these "power gamers" ,who do not let trivial matters like health concerns or "life" concern them while questing away, burn themselves out of a game incredably quickly.

They pollute the games forum board for a period while they are here but thankfully it's not for very long, in respect to the small amount staying power or loyalty with any given title, as it doesn't matter it's all the same grind to PVP win anyway no matter it's content or theme.

With Wildstar, or what ever it is, on the horizon, these "power gamers" ,and their angsty ilk brethren, will float off elsewhere and take the bank of mum and dad with them I have little doubt.

    Hurrah!

WoW has a lot to answer for.

8/9 days of /played time, and I just hit 46.

Some of my friends are working on VR4, and I've spent a large part of my time PvPing in Cyrodiil. Up to Rank 8 on the faction emperor boards.

Some quests I skip/click because they just don't grab me right away, and some I spend time listening and enjoying them.

I'll hang out with other players and chat/emote/joke around in game. Sometimes I'll just hang out on top of a castle keep or in a dungeon enjoying things.

I just finished the Mages Guild/Fighters Guild quest lines. Really enjoyed those.

The game isn't tough to level to 50... but I realize the VR1-10 are going to take me forever.

I personally love heavy stories in an MMO like EQ2 where a game has some serious depth; investing that much time in a single player game always seemed like such a waste to me. I remember wishing that Morrowind was an MMO so I could have something to continue at the end. I think that your take on "persistent worlds" is the opposite of what i'm looking for - that seems two dimensional and boring to me. If ESO continues to build depth, i'll be here a long time I think.

Methods of obtaining that speed in level are not legit... using them will get you banned.

Legit leveling takes 5 days game time per faction.... longer if you stop to read and enjoy the stories.

With the entire negative about rushing and power levelers ECT…I can see a positive.

(In tone with the commercial)…To you mister Pioneer Gamer 18 hour plus man (or woman)... I thank you... for without you we would not have caught those higher level quest bugs till much later in the game…

You are paving the way, for us slower gamers (casuals and those who love to explore and take our merry time). When we reach your awesomeness the bug will be fixed and we will have less stress and more quality game time.

So thank you from the very depth of my heart for donating your hours to make mine better in the long run.

A lot of those rusher just play the beta to discover and list the exploits. These exploits are more or less "legit". When the game is released, they use them to reach their goal. And then they just tell everybody how to do so, so that the obvious issues have to be fixed in the next patch. When they are officially discovered and corrected, all the other people have to actually play the game the way it was meant to be played. And those first guys will be sure to keep their "advance" to discover the new bugs, exploit them, etc...

In all the game it's the same old story.

If you got (really) nothing better to do at the moment and join one of those "hardcore guild", you can see how it works behind the scene. And there's nothing awesome. Just a bunch of guys trying weird things to discover bugs and exploits and then use them over and over like headless chickens. It just takes 10 sec on TS to be "accepted" in one of those guild. But I wouldn't do that even for money. Such a desperate place to be ^^

I'm not telling this guy or this one did that. I'm sure you can reach the level cap quite quickly, alone. And honestly I just don't care.
