Why do you take gear damage from looting dungeon boss

pat02468prerb18_ESO
In fully healthy gear I farm dungeon boss for an hour without dying and I go back to see a 300g + repair bill??? Now I only farm dungeon boss naked.

So you are admitting to being a MMO lucust then? I think they should quadruple it just to make you think twice about spoiling the game for a people! I hope come next month that we will see less locusts and parasites.

Then quadruple it. Fix the game so it's balanced. Then you won't have farmers and botters spoiling your dungeon completion. I am just trying to save some gold for a mount cos I didn't buy the imperial edition. Seriously, instead of blaming a legit player trying to progress through the game, tell Zenimax to fix it. You don't think I'm sick of the bots too? I see them more than you by the sounds of it.

I am simply finding a way to save gold legit, and if the game is such that it conflicts with your progress, suck it up. You're not anymore entitled to your progress than I am to mine.

I remember naked mining in UO...

Oh sorry, erm yes, damage to items you're not wearing, I've seen that. No idea, but I'd welcome a dev blog post shedding light on this and other passive mechanics.

I think all Bosses should have an hour cooldown to prevent this crap. Why would you farm a Boss? It's a guaranteed way to be slow at leveling and pick up crap gear and items for your troubles add the repair bills and you don't even make gold.

It's understandable with bots. Annoying but understandable, when people do it. It's just *slaps forehead*.

    But, whatever floats your boat...

nothing new in that, other MMO's do the same. And yes, its a stupid goldsink.

edit: every average day when i play .. im spending 1000-1500 on repairs. Including maybe 1-2 deaths (yes, i sometimes take on impossible odds just for the heck of it. and running away from fight is for wimps :)) and lots of fighting.

Uh, I've done my fair share of dungeon miniboss farming, and it was more to level up my crafting skills than to get any upgrade materials (as I get more green/blue drops from regular world than from these minibosses). Gear upgrading isn't particularly useful in PvE until high level either due to the ridiculous repair costs.

What "immersion"? If that's your attitude maybe you should go demand that every single cave in the game become solo-instanced since any single player in that breaks your "immersion". This is a MMO ffs, not a single player game, however much you want it to be the latter.

What, do you think you will have an epic, awe-inspiring fight against the boss at the end of the cave? Sorry to bust your bubble, but these dungeon minibosses hit like a paper sword and have the hp of your average mortally wounded mudcrab. They're nothing but cannon fodder even if you go solo, even if you're a level or two below them.

geeze, get back on topic. for the OP, it makes sense that if you are fighting your armor/weapons get nicked and dented and need to be repaired. I havent thought about fighting naked to avoid this on easy fights but will as Im tired of replacing my gear to avoid the fees, or sucking up and repairing a nice piece I want to keep.

I wonder if they will institute a cap to repairing like other games... so eventually you will have to replace the gear in time regardless................

Don't be an idiot. Dungeon diving should be the stand out feature of this game but is ruined by the fact that they are farmed by players and bots alike.

You don't see a reason why seeing a naked guy and a load of slaves waiting for a dead boss to re-spawn is immersion breaking?

Well in which case I say your selfish and only think of your own enjoyment. Why be part of a game that has a community. Or lack of one because of people like you.

Personally, I'd be happy just doing PVP, but I keep getting reminded how TES is about the 'story' and 'RP experience' and that is why the xp in PVP is so bad.

There are so many ways to get gear and matts I don't see the need to have to farm the mini dungeons. Like I said, if there was a cooldown on attacking the boss the problem is solved. People will find something else to farm but bots will be gone and the dungeons would be as good as they should be. I could actually live with the farmers if the bots were not there.

I don't why you keep referring to it being an mmo not a single player game. I only play mmo's

With a cooldown you could still farm, it would be a case of farming many rather than just the same one boss which is what is wrong.

Well, I would certainly like to see the bots being gone. The bots are actually a bigger problem for those who occasionally farm bosses (yeah, I say occasionally, because at most I do maybe 3-4 runs to a dungeon before I've outleveled it (since I do questing in between)) than for those who just want to get a hit in and complete the dungeon.

I don't agree with the cooldown - rather, the way this game wanting to cater to MMO and SP crowd alike, I'd bring up another suggestion from a previous thread - namely getting to choose when entering whether to enter a single player instance (where things won't respawn) or a public instance (where things will respawn).

To be honest, that would suit me even more. I only say a cooldown because the devs seem intent on everything being public.

Take Lady Estra for example.. Spoiler/AD level15:

After following the story for a couple of hours and a huge build up to what should be an epic battle. No, most people will just come in at the tail end of the fight and manage to get one or a couple of hits in. This is repeated time and time again.

The mini dungeons are just the worse effected. So I'm all up for many instanced parts being added. Otherwise Cooldowns to prevent farming and more importantly bots.

Commodities are usually tangible, have some intrinsic value and can be bartered or traded through some form of commerce.

As for intelligence and its presence here, irregardless its degree of abundance or scarcity the laws of supply and demand concerning the former cannot apply to the latter in either its acquisition or dispensation. The principal causative factor? A predictable pedantic pseudointellectualism that's always near, never far, only corrupting its existence regardless of intent.
