Shadowfen Quest Achievement Bug

I have already done all of the quest in this You Tube Video and a few others. Everyone having this issue should check it.

I added a resource mapping add-on to fully demonstrate my exploration and sent in a few screenshots. all previous maps had more than enough quests to get the achievement. if that pattern holds then more than a few are bugged out.

I have had continued conversations and i have submitted & resubmitted reports with CS[TS also] via /bug and the forum EMAIL form. I even had a phone support call.

Nothing has been done.
59/63 and I know a few quests are done but seem to be hanging on in weird ways.

Assistant Telixith still has a companion icon and come to my aid when i am nearby.
Multiple finished locations still spawn enemies just unlike previous maps.

I want the achievement list to list our quests completed. Then at least I can identify the missing quests to prove they are finished.

They had a week+ to do anything... i am lvl 38 at this point and so much for the achievement thanks Zenimax

Check the bridge south west of the venomous dark anchor.
Check next to the skyshard by camp crystal on the south east corner.
Also check by deep graves.

That gave me 61/62. And I learned that there's another quest with the mercenaries in stormhold after you do unwelcome guests and that bugged out for me and a lot of other people and will most likely be 62.

I have completed all those 6 quests and I have completed both side quests in Lorasiel Ruins. I have done all dungeons multiple times (public and group in Shadowfen). I have ran through Shadowfen multiple times to look for a missing quest because it still says 61/62 for me.Maybe someone has a tip for some really obscure quest giver that doesn't show up on HUD or something when you explore? Something you get from reading some book or examine something? I start to think that there is some thing that didn't made a count in quest completion or there are some quests that lead to quests but I skipped them going straight to those quest givers a little bit early. I have seen even veteran rank players exploring those zones day by day trying to get that last quest.

I took my entire guild to literally grid pattern search the zone bit by bit and we only got 61, it has to do with how you played shadowfen, not missing a quest. (after 6 hours) We also confirmed there were at least 2 quests not giving credit and the line that is supposed to follow up after the merchant is indeed broken. We also noted the area that was taken out (as we have pictures of the wayshrine that has been deactivated) and we also noted the companions still having markers over their heads after quests completed.

This can be solved very simply. Make the achievement 61 quests. As the majority of folks are stuck on 61 and it is indeed possible to get to this point (for the exception of the unlucky folks that are having phasing issues) we can make guides and such to explain exactly how to do so. However, as we know Shadowfen is bugged, has had previous issues with boss areas and quests, and we know this issue is common with quests as the ebonheart hero achievement is already having problems due to the eastmarch end zone boss credits (or lack there of), simply flipping a switch in a patch for 1 less quest on a achievement will fix the majority of problems. Otherwise, it isn't going to get fixed. Period. 1 less quests on an achievement isn't going to have the community up in arms. If it does, please let them tell us where the 62 quest is. lol

The odd thing, is that most other zones I played so far, seem to have more quests than the actual achivement (not necessarly by much), yet shadow seems to have just the right amount, and if the merchant's bugs, you're stuck ad vitam eternam .

I wrote also on the mentioned topic, that I was successful with 62/62 quest achievement. I had also problem to find all quest and one of them was bugged, so I had to abandon it and found again the quest giver, but for me it was possible to complete. See and read the mentioned topic page 9.

The problem is that for people that already completed the quests, there's no way to cancel them or redo them .

I tried grouping with a guildie, and followed her thru shadow, in case I missed something. She got 62, I was still at 61.

I'm suspecting, that if you are overlevelled, some random quests might also not appear (the npc's coming and running at you).

I have my own gaming style, it means, I just did not follow the standard quest line I just run here and there and I was solving the quests.. At the beginning I received items for higher levels and near to end of the zone, I received items for low level... So maybe I did it in reverse quest line

Since none of you have been involved in my multi-week discussion with Zenimax CS I am just going to skip to the important parts.

Some people are stuck with bugged quests. some people have just not explored enough. I have explored every bit of shadowfen. The 3 I am missing can be accounted for in bugged quests that seem unfinished with nothing to abandon.

Today I heard from Zenimax that they recognize the issue and will be addressing it in a soon to come patch. So do not get angry if you know you have searched and people assume you haven't, vindication is on the way. Likewise make sure you have done a few laps at lvl 30 before you claim to have found them all.

Thank the maker. Of course the people who have the achievement look at you like your insane. They have it, so why shouldn't you right? I mean, its not like any other quests or achievements have been bugged to the point where people can't complete them and others can. (Anyone been to Cold Harbor and spoken to a certain Kajiit pirate opening a door?) lol

I just got off the phone with an agent who told me ZOS was able to evaluate my game data and determine that I had not completed Eyes of the Enemy (a zone storyline quest that is currently skippable).

She also told me that resetting quests is too likely to cause other bugs, so this issue will not be fixed until an upcoming patch.

I hope it will be in the next patch, but I was not provided with that information.

frustrating indeed lets hope this gets fixed in an update soon, for now back to Eastmarch ttfn

I'm at 60 of 62 and can't find anything across the bridge south of venomous anchor so i think that's bugged for me. Somebody said it was Hagravens? I checked all other areas people suggest and I have them all. I can't figure out why I'm at 60 when others are at 61, unless its that Hagravens quest. If that's the case, where is number 62? I really wish they had a quest list of what you have completed and what you are missing and where to find the quest givers. Exploration is one thing, but this amount of blind hunting is stupid.

This. There's lead-in breadcrumb quests that simply disappear if you do the quest hub they lead into before getting the breadcrumb quest. This bothers me immensely as the game states even on the loading screen to "pick a direction and run" then punishes you for it.

Once in VR content, doing to DC zones, I realize how ridiculous some of the Pact zones are in terms of getting the completions. They obviously removed an entire part of Shadowfen as there an inactive Wayshrine and an entire quest area that was active at some point in the beta has been made inactive and all NPC's have been removed for that area. The achievement was never updated though.

Stuck at 61/62 myself, and I've isolated the quest I missed as a lead-in to the "burn the khajiit boats" area that I missed because I explored rather than walked the path.

I'm in teh 61/62 boat as well, been told twice now by CS to "keep looking" and other than the group dungeon i cannot find any other quests remaining undone in this area. And not only is this breaking the shadowfen achievement its also blocking the Hero of the Pact achievement as well. So it seems with at least 1 quest broken it breaks at least 2 other things.


Oh and to top it all off my attempts to reply the lastest email from CS get bounced back to me saying the recipient is spamming.

I can say this; Shadowfen has taught me to follow the quest line... no adhd exploring anymore. no "sometimes, just pick a direction and run"

59/62 here, and combed through every area. Dungeons don't seem to increase the number (not sure they ever did, truth be told). From what i'm reading, i'm sure they'll either patch it or lower the number, as in most areas, there's a few more quests than are needed for completion. I still look occasionally, but no quest markers, no quests, and i have the patience of a 3 year old in a candy store.

I managed to get 61/62 for the achievement sent in a ticket and they first responded that they were looking into the issue for everyone. Then later they responded that on THEIR side I had the achievement so it may not be a quest you are missing but one that isn't properly registering. They had me send in a SS. Will keep this updated as I receive more info. Now... if only I could get Captain Bones to spawn...

I went around Shadowfen in a clockwise direction. I have 61/62. Support confirmed I cannot start 4 quests and a 5th one isn't visible. They said Devs would look at it and address in an upcoming patch.

I wondered why I saw so many people with Skeleton costumes, then when I finally got around to that last part of the zone, I had out leveled the area, and finally got the skeleton item.

Maybe the sequence bugs the other quests. Maybe out leveling does.

Captain Bones spawned after the last maintenance day.

I'm currently stuck at 61/62 too, I'm an OCD completionist, and I have scoured the entirety of Shadowfen, there is not another quest to be found, i have spent days searching. At the least they could reduce the amount of quests required to get the achievement so that I can sleep.

I went looking when I was at 57/62 and didn't find any. So I went on to Eastmarch. I hit the Eastmarch quest achievement before I saved the Skald King! I've got five unfinished quests in Eastmarch and have the achievement. So after I finished that up, I went back to scour Shadowfens. I managed to find two more before the maintenance hit. Both were random little encounters out in the swamp, not tied to a main or local quest. I imagine I could find two more like that on the map. But hitting the Eastmarch achievement with several quests there left to go? Shadowfens is screwy.

The problem with Shadowfen is they removed content from a small section of the map. There is an inactive wayshrine that I managed to pick up by traveling to one of my friends I can port to it but cannot travel from it in the NW corner of the map, there is still a dungeon up there but that's pretty much all there is in the area of interest. That, I believe is why this zone is so quest starved they removed those quests but never lowered the achievement. Oh and bonus I did get the Captain today when I logged in.

FYI - A big re-code of how achievements register is coming. That is the best update I can give anyone.
