Plague Bringer quest broken

I'm on the final stage of the Plague Bringer quest-line (where you kill Merdyndril) and the guest is now completely broken. Originally, he fell through the floor so I abandoned the quest and received it again. Then, the same thing happened the second time around and I once again abandoned the quest. Now, I can go and retrieve the quest, talk to drili (or whatever his name is who asks you to enter the dungeon area), but no one spawns inside. I've tried re-starting the game, abandoning the quest again, etc but nothing seems to work.
Is this a main quest-line that is going to stop me from further advancement (I'm only level 16)?

Sadique✭✭✭this same thing has happened to me as well, no amount of relogging, reloading ui, abandoning and picking back up will fix it.0
