Add New or Remove Skills from Hotbar

Hi all.
I can't find anywhere online, including here, where someone has asked this question, even rewording the question in anyway I can think of.
So if I'm doubling up, I apologize.

I'm playing ESO on a MAC and cannot, for the life of me, switch a skill on the Hotbar, or remove it altogether so I can put a new/different skill in its place.
Can someone explain to me how to achieve this?
I'm sick of a particular skill (lightning form) and want to summon a daedric assistant, but if I drag the new skill over it - I'm left with the lightning form tile attached to my cursor and even exiting the menu doesn't do anything except undo the action.

I appreciate any help.

(I am indeed finding that Zenimax doesn't seem to have taken into account the issues that not having a double-button mouse, i.e.: Mac users, present.
I can't even flick through a book except to click the button at the bottom.)

    Seriously?
Out of 22 people who viewed this post, not one of you knows how to modify/remove skills in the hot bar?

This is why the human race is stuffed.

Drag the skill that you want to your skill bar and then release it, it will switch with the current one. Then you can drag the old skill off the screen, away from the black background of the menu, and click it to make it go away.

    Hi,

    If I remember right....

The equivalent of right clicking on a 1 button mouse is CTRL-Click. That should let you do any of the things PC uses can do with a Rt click.

    Hope that helps.

Your title does not mention the issue is on Mac, and I have no way of knowing that until I viewed your post. So maybe you should rename it to target mac users who can help, and I would recommend adjusting your attitude to boot.

No idea on a mac sorry... I think, you have to put a new skill on the one you want to move, the old one then sticks to your mouse
The statement "if you put enough monkeys behind enough typewriters... sooner or later one will produce the works of Shakespeare" has sadly been proven utterly wrong by the internet...

Yeah, because I'll bet that every single person who viewed this uses a Mac for playing games, and further I'll bet that every single one of those people uses the single button mouse too rather than using a more practical mouse with their Mac.

Here's an idea: have you tried googling how to right click on a Mac? 10 seconds of effort showed me a wikihow article on that very topic. Now I don't know for sure that those methods work with ESO, but it sure seems likely.

Honestly, thank you to everyone who replied.
    Even the snarky ones.

All of you are under the impression that I am some novice who doesn't know how to use his own computer. Some, blatantly patronising in their comments.
As a Mac user of several years, I do indeed know how to ctrl-click/replicate all basic functions and more.

Also, whilst the last TES game I played was Morrowind and it's expansions, I am not a newcomer to MMO's and the concept of dragging the skill down to replace the other didn't escape me. I do exactly that. It takes its place and the former skill tile ends up attached to the cursor (as I explained). I suspected it was a glitch, yet no-one seems to have reported it because I couldn't find any instances, whilst searching.
In short, the Mac version of "right-clicking" doesn't function in-game. The game's menus still reference Windows interface commands and do not properly reconize it is being used in a different OS (or better: it wasn't properly programmed to run on a Mac OS).
Also, where was the instruction guide included with the game?
    I must've missed it.

As for my 'attitude', I made a statement that people seem to be completely dismissive of one another. It was anything but untrue. Sorry for those I offended so. Ironically, I only got responses, five dayd after I posted that comment.
My tone was only offensive to people who no longer understand, use and/or care for punctuation.
It was not written in all-caps, therefore I wasn't 'yelling' at anyone.
    It was a "spoken" statement.

    It's an MMO.
I seem to be the only fool, in-game, who even bothers to thank when someone happens to help with a difficult enemy. I do in kind and just get someone jumping away. Really polite. Manners are so common, these days, even more so in the cyber realm, where everyone believes they're exempt because of the medium/environment.

If you're going to be snarky and dismissive (and it would have been pretty damn difficult for your second post to be any more snarky and dismissive), then you have to expect people to be snarky and dismissive of you. You reap what you sow.

Bring up the skill panel (I think default hot key is "K"). From there, you can drag and drop onto your skill bar as needed.

Then, you should be able to just left-click on blank space OUTSIDE the skill window to get rid of the old one.

(Playing on a mac as well)

The way you worded your post made it look like you were having trouble with right click functionality.

If you had stated you were using the Mac right click method and it was not working where ESO wanted rt click input, then your answers would have been different.

Submit a bug report saying that the Mac key equiv. of RT click is not registering as RT click.

It is a coding issue and there is nothing anyone on the forum can do for you.

Buy a real computer, or failing that, a proper mouse.

What happens if you escape out of the skill selection menu when the ability is attached to your cursor?

press K then drag the icon from the skills menus to the qbar. the game is clearly designed for controllers and console spastics so expect these kinds of funky ways of doing things.
