Cut the line to china already... -Bots, Farmers, Gold Sellers-

Nephiral

Every website selling gold, every bot that spams, and likely a majority of farmers that supply the sales I've seen originating from china. From GOLD AH to any other link shared boldly in public chat. It's ruining character progression as they camp bosses in every quest line up. Enough is enough and I know a lot of people are re-thinking their subscriptions if you seriously cannot solve this issue. Cut the line, ban the IP range, or do something in order to poison the root of the problem rather than trimming it nicely so it doesn't bother AS MANY people. (which by the way still bothers a lot of us with our ignore lists full and the general inability to submit tickets when ticket system is broken. add-ons to block spam or not.)

Banning IP ranges won't do any good. Because the gold sellers use proxies and VPN's.

I have always said that these games should not be available in these types of and or depressed economies. Never mind the gold farming it causes real world implication with CC fraud and Theft and Money Laundering. Your tax dollars are being spent to combat this problem from that kind of standpoint and yes the FBI and other agencies do have to waste time investigating this crap. Keeping the game available in those place only encourages this and provides a means to profit from.

You did not think these gold farmers are buying 100's of accounts each with legitimate means did you?

P.S. It it easy to detect a proxy or VPN bouncing a signal. This is no way makes you anonymous as it is just a matter of tracing it and the means for doing so are very evolved. Unless you buy a laptop or mobile device and never associate with yourself and ONLY log in from public wifi hotspots you are NOT anonymous on the internet and your usage can be very easily traced to its source these days. Heck my new android phone was able to tell me where I live without any input and having 'location services' disabled just following my behavior, it is not that hard. There is no way you could stay connected to a service like an MMO and hide where your signal is coming from.*

*Yes so called Anonymous VPNS do exist which will hide in some obscure foreign country and not give any info or trace route information, but good luck playing a game over one and not getting hacked because all your packets would be sniffed out and virtually *** by the highest quality and most malicious hackers on the net. You would also be connecting through like East Uzbeckistan or something and it would be a very easy matter to identify those specifically and blocked them at once.

It matters not if they ip ban china. The farmers will still be here. They even now are using proxies. So for this to work, they have to ban every ip for every nation. No one gets in!

Banning CC payment would do better than banning IP's changing IP takes like 2mins.

To be serious in game fixes, system and economy changes are needed to addjust fight botting and make them unefficient.

Other games have combated this kind of issue in multiple ways. I'm not saying it's a stupid simple fix but dear god it's out of hand beyond belief.

No that is fine, we need to continue to discuss ways ZOS can combat them. However a ip ban will not work. The fight against gold sellers/botters is a very old battle. One that is not easily won.

Which is true, that's why I'm saying anything to poison the root of the problem, some users have even started to DDoS the domains of the gold sellers. Not saying that's the solution but it's helped us more than anyone else so far.

Maybe certain bosses once killed via quest line stay dead for you..... that would prevent a ton of boss camping.

Yeah, or after completing a quest much like other games not giving you the option to go back into said area of the game. There's no reason... role play or otherwise to just go and sit inside of a dungeon that no longer gives xp. (or at least remove that dungeon/instance if all achievements attainable from said dungeon/instance are obtained)

Man this is pure racism, TC thinks everyone from China or even Chinese is a gold farmer and or bot.

I like those ideas, however there is another player base that would push back on that. Which is the problem. ZOS has to try and cater to all parties. Players like us would be more than happy to have a boss disappear after you kill him, while others want to kill him over and over again. As some of the boss farmers are legitimate players.

Racism or common sense with an observation? Go check the location of ANY and ALL gold selling websites and see where they are based out of. Go take your race card and toss it around on FB.

Better yet, lets get rid of the crap idea of a megaserver, and maybe realm things off already? Then at least the bots/spammers/gold sellers won't be able to simply flood EVERYONE's game. They will at least be split up?

The gold farmers are actually just penguins amassing their wealth in order to fund their plan to invade the rest of the planet. Watch the southern seas, that's all I'm saying! ;)

I'd love to hear an official response from the devs or a GM or something. cause this issue is pretty out of hand and unmentioned as far as a plan of action.

Logged in last night to the same issues and haven't found any real official game plan on ridding this problem. Sorta wondering how high of a priority this issue is honestly despite the fact that these bots are flooding some quests making them nearly if not impossible to pass at times.
