Bot and Gold Farmer. Impossible situation!

Now some doungen have become unplayable. More than 10 characters in perfect sequence kill the final boss to collect gold or level. This will ruin a lot of the game. I hope that steps be taken to this absurd situation.

You'll have to reload your screenshots as a .JPG file.
But yes I understand the frustration took me a good 10 mins earlier to tag a boss in one of the dungeons in Auridon.

I was in some low level public dungeons on Daggerfall last night and these bots are getting VERY smart.

Usual pile of players standing around boss attacking as soon as it spawned. So out of curiosity I pulled a pack of 5 onto them. Well darn if they didn't move out of their pack to engage what I dragged close and then all moved back to their original location in unison. If anyone remebers that episode of the Simpsons with Micheal Jackson where he had the 4 other 'Micheals' all tied together with broomsticks moonwalking and slapping Homor at the same time, yeah it was exactly just like that.

and the ignore list + reports you can make are limited it seems? maybe they actually want to invite the goldfarmers and finance their game through them. thats my current theory, at least.

Just a head up, but reporting and banning bot account is 100% ineffective. Blizzard could not do it, Sony could not do it, Square Enix could not do it. The new kid on the block will not fair any better I assure you.

The reason is because they can buy accounts faster than ZOS can ban them, they achieve this using stolen CC info purchased on the black market and pennies and dimes on the dollar. ie. instead of paying $60 for an account they probably end up paying about $6. This problem is magnified by the fact that these botters typically run anywhere from 12-100 (yes you read that right 100) accounts simultaneously.

I have said for years the problem is not the sellers, they are the symptom the problem is the gold buyers as they are NOT buying 100's of accounts that is where you need to combat the problem. Treat the disease and not the symptom, for as long as someone is willing to buy something someone else will always be willing to sell it for a profit. That is human nature. This becomes worse by games adding more and more gold sink and making it harder and harder for a legit player to make legit coin in game (ie. the recent provisioning nerf hurt legit players more than anything) this only serves to drive the gold sellers business.

Totally agree they should implement a timer on public dungeon after 30mn inside you are kicked from dungeon then you cannot go in the specific dungeon for 2 hours

not a bad idea, I still think instances these for 1-2 people is the best option. I mean seriously it is not like these caves are scaled for the amount ofpeople we see in them. They need to instance MORE. I could take on one of these caves myself or with a partner easily and would enjoy that so much more than what we have now. So much more I might even renew my currently cancelled sub.

I am getting so tired of seeing Bots and Message Spams to sell Gold. If something is not done soon. I am going to cancel my wife and my account. ESO can make their monthly subscriptions off the Gold Farmers.

true. I just wonder why they didnt see this coming. Its nothing new and if they are really against goldselling they would have come up with something better than even more loopholes for goldselling and botting. I just dont understand why they didnt.

I would be totally ok with a system like GW2: legit goldbuying/selling and less spamming.
Botting happens there too, I guess. It is just not that big a deal because the bots cant steal anyones mobs/loot/crafting nodes and everyone can only profit from other players being in the same area. They cant "steal" anything from you. No incentive to greed, grief or harass other players. So a normal player, who is not interested in goldbuying or botting, could play without noticing any of it.

I really would have thought that a modern MMO would be designed with a strategy how to handle these problems.

if they allowed world wide pvp then you could attack those in dungeons, effectively making it impossible to gold farm like that

Agreed. However, I don't agree that money sinks or anything like that really have an impact. The only way to remove the problem is, as you say, to stop people buying gold and the only way that can be managed is by have a totally game controlled economy where everything is incredibly cheap, or even better have no ingame currency at all! But that in itself has lots of other issues associated with it.

At the end of the day it comes down to this: If there is an ingame currency / economy there will be people that buy gold, ergo gold sellers will exist. Annoying but true.

Good luck! WoW (and other games) still have gold sellers ingame after 10 years!

It also opens the door to much more griefing and the like, which will probably have a far bigger impact on the overall game longevity for many more players.

The game just hit the mass market. Less than a month. Give it time people. The issue isnt as easy as you think to deal with. The problem is the folks that buy ingame currency. The only thing ZOS can do is ban accounts, and they are very active in this regard.

GW2 was far worse with gold sellers and bots. Far, far worse. Thats not an excuse for ZOS, however; it is an example of the plague that hits all new, popular, MMOs.

For non-pvpers, like me, it would ruin the game and make it unplayable.

I think they should have it so that a boss can only be looted once. There would be no reason to farm them then. Speaking for myself, that would have no impact at all on my gameplay at all because I don't think I've ever been into a public dungeon twice to kill a boss. Ok, this may impact on legitimate farmers for crafting etc, but if it was a mechanic that had been a part of the original game design, no-one would have been the wiser and alternative gameplay strategies would have been pursued by crafters/traders.

You have to give it to those bot programmers, though. They sometimes do an incredible programming job. I'm not an expert, so this might be easy to do, but I've seen the following bot in one of the starting level public dungeons:

Endboss is a dino that does that charge-type attack that one-hits you if you dont move out. Bot was standing there waiting for respawn. When it spawned, it attacked it. Got a few damaging skills on it, got killed by the charge. Then USED the soul gem that the boss drops to rezz on the spot, teleport hacked to the original place (you could see it was a teleport hack because he teleported a little bit in the air and then fell down), and looted the boss.

Since there is a 100% soul gem in every boss, that bot could do it over and over again.

While totally annoying and while i hope, they ban those guys and kill their first-born sons (sorry, angry, so exagerating), the actual programming behind it is fascinating.

Yes the sight of these boss bots and gold spammers is sickening to me. I'm playing this to relax and escape the stress of work. These people are working in the game, exploiting and corrupting it.

That they are not getting banned quick as they pop up is sad for me.
