EDIT: After about 2 hours of error 201 messages, I decided to try to repair the launcher, just to see if that would help. Best decision of my life. It solved the problem.
So if anyone else get's the same problem as I did, try to use the repair function on the launcher, even if it is up to date :)

Hello!

Today when I tried to log into ESO I got this error message:

"ERROR 201 (7:1:1016:409)
Login failed. Please try again. Should the problem persist, contact Costumer Support: http://help.elderscrollsonline.com"

I took a look at the forum, and found the stickied thread about error messages and their meanings. I found the 201 listed there. I read that it either had to do with either a; connection issues or b; wrong password/username combination or c; a temporary "hiccup". The solution stated was to wait for a while and try again (in case of hiccup) and check username and password.

I have checked my internet connection, nothing wrong with it. I checked my password and username several times, both with and without caps lock. I have tried to log in several times, with several pauses of several minutes for the past one hour. I have configured my virus programme (norton internet security), used AdwCleaner and restarted my computer.
I still get the same error message every time. Same number and all.

I have also tried to log in both from Trusted machine and Untrusted machine.

I suspect it all might have something to do with the computer repairal this morning. It happened because of something I did yesterday.
My computer shut down because of over-heating while playing ESO. So I had to start it again if I wanted to finish the Dolmen I was doing in time. So I pressed the start button on my laptop. Then I thought that by the time I'd have logged in again, the Dolmen would probably already be finished. And I was also a bit tired. That's why I pressed the on/off button on my laptop a second time, so that it shut down.

First thing that happens next morning is that my computer says it would need repair and in doing the repair some of my most recent downloaded files may be deleted.

But the ESO launcher/patcher says my game is up to date, so I don't think it deleted any files from there.

I just hope my account ain't hacked or something, last thing I want is to become a gold scam spammer bot in /zone chat.

Shouldn't there be a "forgot my password" button on the login screen?
