Stop letting people skip the tutorial

wizzerd_lg_ESO
Our little introduction in the tutorial may not take a whole lot of time to finish, especially if we plan to keep the character and level them up. However, compared to the pre-ban lifespan of a goldseller/spammer/flooder, it takes up a significant amount of time, even if you speed through it. I would love to see the Skip Tutorial option taken away so that those spammers have to waste that much more of their precious time before they can get into the game and start harassing us. Those of us who want to play our characters won't be inconvenienced greatly (I spend more time reporting spammers than it takes to get through the tutorial, and I klepto the place), but spammers who are ignored and reported within minutes of starting will suffer a tremendous hit to their reward/effort ratio.

I thought you could only skip it after your first character? Since a lot of spammers are being reported/banned... It would seem like they'd all be fresh accounts.

    ...no.

Most of the accounts do get banned eventually, but long before then, they cycle through a bunch of new characters to botspam everybody for awhile until they get ignored by most, and create a new character to do the same. Wash, rinse, repeat. I'd like to see these people be forced to waste time going through the tutorial before they can turn their botting on, and get a lot less botting time before the account the bought on a stolen credit card gets banned.

Ignore is account wide, so if you ignore the first, you've ignored all subsequent players on that account.... The mass amount of spammers and such you see are all individual accounts.

There are spammers and BOT operators that have been in the game from day one. I do not believe the efforts by ZOS so far have done much at all to curtail the spammers. They seem to go away one night and the next morning I have an email from the same company that I reported 5 times on the night before.

Forcing the tutorial really won't do much to prevent spammers IMO, they only need to waste 15 minutes to get into the main game area. That's not really long at all.

    You are correct.

I'm still pretty sure it would inconvenience them far more than real players. I suppose I could be wrong though.

Couldn't whoever is behind the spam bots simply program a path through the tutorial level and make the bots finish it automatically? Similar to how bots are program to target resource nodes and bosses? If the path exists, even if the bot has been banned, they only need to apply it to a new character. If so, that's not really a solution.

My programming skills peak with CoH keybinds, so I don't really know how they do that even. As a result, I'm forced to answer, "Maybe?"

No, please don't. I was overjoyed when I was notified that since my first character did the Wailing Prison, I don't have to do it again. Once or twice (I did it two times) is enough. Taking that option hurts the player, not the spammer.

The problem with gold spam is the demand, not the supply.

Punish us because of gold spammers? Heh no thank you sir. I do wonder why it takes so long to ban these *** though.

Make everyone else be inconvenienced so that some bot farmer will be inconvenienced - bad idea.

Better idea would be to make it so that you can't use the zone chat until you are lvl 5 or something. Although even that's far from perfect.

The best answer is for them to come up with a single click spam report instead of having to fill out a stupid form, and to have a faster responding spam system - someone gets reported X times as a spammer they get auto-muted from all channels until someone from eso can review it.
