• [COMPLETE] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – October 8, 8:00AM EDT (12:00 UTC) – 12:00PM EDT (16:00 UTC)
The Markarth DLC and Update 28 base game patch are now available to test on the PTS! Read the full patch notes here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/categories/pts/

ZOS should imediately lift every suspension/ban

step3951
step3951
By now it is completly obvious they have made a huge error and should re-activate all accounts that were banned/suspended in the last 24 hours ASAP, regardless of circumstances then investigate each account in more detail before taking further action against the account in question. Failure to do this i feel will result in huge revenue losses and could put the future of the game and indeed the company itself at risk.

Totally agree. I'm disputing charges of even my CE purchase if this isn't fixed by tomorrow.

I agree, this was using a hammer when they should have used a scalpel. Whoever decided to do this made a huge mistake.

But wouldn't this just let those people with millions of gold and hundreds of items back in game, and knowing that they'll be banned, give them away to friends or other players?

Most of the bans are probably legit, and we're just seeing a handful of innocents and a bunch of real exploiters jumping in on the "I'm innocent" bandwagon.

Makes it a little harder to tell who's lying and who's okay, but I bet after a day or so the innocents will be cleared and the exploiters will stay banned. Leave the bans until this process has taken place.

I have reached out to Kotaku in the hopes that they will point some coverage towards this and hopefully help us out. If Zenimax has a PR backlash because they banned users too aggressively (when we did nothing wrong) then they will work more diligently to right the ship and get us back in the game.

The fact that this is happening on Good Friday is offensive.

most of the bans are not legit when it you're account that gets hit you will be just as angry.

This. In any situation, there's no justification for the banning/suspending of undeserving players. We've put just as much money and time into ESO as everyone else, and deserve some shred of respect until this situation is resolved.

I'm sick of those individuals jumping to conclusions that we've all cheated somehow. This isn't true. We need some attentive customer service reps on this immediately.

I generally ignore comments that imply anyone zenimax has banned must be a cheater.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

I've seen ban waves in WOW before too, and sure enough after each one a lot of "innocent" people flooded the forums saying they didn't do anything wrong, etc. Usually a GM would give "hints" to what they did, and they would get laughed off the forums.

VERY VERY occasionally I saw an innocent person get caught up in it, but it was a small percentage.

no way they should roll back the bans, its time they took a stand against all the cheaters in this game. For those wrongly banned for legal actions that the code is wrongly targeting them they will fix it soon with prob time credited to your subs.

and Azmodeus, equating a game to genocide is abhorrent. You need a reality check big time

Of course I'd be bummed. But I'd go to customer service and get it quietly sorted rather than ranting on a forum protesting my innocence. For a start, there's nothing us here in the forum can do for you. All it does is make you all look suspect imo ("the lady doth protest too much methinks ").

The problem with what you say is you are comparing an amateur company with NO experience handling this to Blizzard - and only then several years after launch. And besides, they've already acknowledged they're having issues with suspending people who are innocent.

Except that it is before a 3 day weekend? Ofcourse people that have been banned wrongly complain. I sincerely hope all the people going 'neener neener' here will have it happen to them too.

Please share how you know acquired this knowledge with the rest of the community?

I am here f'ing furious right now because my easter weekend plans have been ruined because one the most honest people I know has been banned and my enjoyment stems from playing with them. We have played mmo's together for over 7 years and neither of us have even had a warning.

Consider just for a moment that if this was a bug sweep gone wrong that was the result of bugs Zenimax caused, what that means for all of us, including you and myself, people who weren't banned. We may have escaped this time but what happens when we encounter the next bug? What protects us from getting banned?

We should be vocal about this issue, we should be conveying our outrage, even if we haven't been banned, because it's wrong.

All I keep seeing is a community burning potential allies to the ground, accusing them of being dirty, liars and cheats. Why? Because Zenimax deemed it so? I've seen more cases of unjust bans that have been reversed on these forums in the first month than i've ever seen in mmo launch. So its certainly not like they have got it even close to right.

I did not dupe. The one time I went to use the guild bank, it was already disabled. I bought ONE item off hte guild store. I feel once through the world. Everything on my characters and in my bank came from checking everything thing I could check, every chest i could get into, crafting, and dungeons.

So tell me again how to play by the rules.

You could just follow the rules in appealing the ban instead of stinking up the forums with it...
