How about a separate CLEAN dupe/bug-free mega-server

From the little knowledge I have in network engineering, I believe you should be able to divide the physical resources and bandwidth of the mega-servers however you like. In a way it should be similar to the cloud servers I manage for my games (minecraft and more).

How about, in that case, starting a completely separate clean server with most of the fixes (like the duping fix) already applied from its start, seeing how many people will register for it at the start, dividing the resources according to them and allowing them to populate it? Nothing will ever be completely bug-free but at least ensuring it's free of game-breaking and criticals bugs or dupes.

The original server is not affected in any way while people who prefer a completely clean experience have a chance to start anew.

If we don't ask for a solution, we will never get one and as it is impossible to retract every duped item, ill-gained gold or skill points and maxed crafting skills gained by duped items from the game, this seems to be the best solution, rather than a rollback which the company will never do.

I would rather see the accounts that were duping deleted.

Nice idea but definitely wishful thinking.
Hopefully duping ruined the game for cheaters and they all quit

Then when a new exploit is found and abused we break away from that one as well?
Better than just ban those who abused and try to delete as many of the items and gold as they can, give it a month or two and no one will even remember it happened.

Probably because the players who are currently upset about the exploit will have moved on to another game.

And make the server Oceanic - kill two birds with one stone.

    Cheers.

I know it's unfortunately wishful thinking my friend. But I had to at least throw it on the forums.

It seems to be the best solution for us players because retracting the dupes or banning all the culprits is impossible since most were already "laundered" in various ways and since most dupers used one account for a hundred players.
And as for a complete rollback, it may be too harsh for most and many will be against it.

While we're at it, lets get Vanilla only servers too

Isn't dupers running rampart for that long reason enough for the start of a separate server? I am certain that quite a lot of people are willing to make that sacrifice to play in a clean and fair game.

New servers cost money. Lets be clear, unless subscriptions massively increase beyond projected business models, no new capacity will EVER be purchased.

The game has launched and the bean counters are officially in charge of it now.

The only direction for Spending, is less.

I personally don't mind people having thousands of duped Legendary Tier mats a few weeks into launch.

I take pride in my farming and am totally self sufficient, so the blow to he economy and a single megaserver flooded with duped items is not a big deal for me.

I treasure the single Dreugh Wax I've found.

Doesn't really matter to me if they did, but my guess with the number of people willing to start over from scratch they wouldn't need anything mega about the server.

    Definitely nailed it.
Personally I'll deal with whatever they decide to do.
A complete reroll would be the most painful solution but acceptable in my eyes.
ZOS doing nothing is annoying but the most likely option.
A fresh server sounds like a nice happy medium. I simply can't picture it happening even if they have the technical capacity.

Personally, don't care about dupers enough to reroll my vet character on a new, clean server (even though it's only been a week).
