Beta character missing?

I was under the impression that we'd be able to keep our character we used during beta once the game went live, yet mine is not showing on the character select screen....I'm in the military, so I apologize if this has been addressed and I missed it due to being out to sea.....

no they were cleared after the last beta session.You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

All beta characters where deleted on release, everyone had to start from scratch =p0 -

✭✭Perfectly normal for beta stuff to get wiped. I doubt they ever made any posts claiming otherwise? During the final beta, at least, they were pretty clear that everything was getting wiped before release.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭The only time I've seen beta characters persist to launch was when the "beta" wasn't really one at all, and was just a soft launch to gain publicity.
Not wiping indicates that the beta build is either final or very close to it, with minor tweaks. It also tends to mean that all game balance decisions are final. None of these are automatic, mind. If you're building for it, you can deliberately pump a beta build out that won't wipe previous content (Starbound's gone this way, for instance), but in MMOs it's pretty rare to push a beta character onto a live server.0
