its a Friday night a public holiday the kids are sleeping and me and the wife want to game hard!!! what's that its 7-30 pm the game is coming down again in 30 mins??? it was only down a few days ago for like 10 freaking hours and its down again till 1 am , which is the time when we need to be getting off line to be up for kids? is this going to be a weekly thing? patches twice a week??? if so were gone, were lucky to get a few hours a night to play and if patches are twice a week AND a Friday night is one of them ? back to diablo 3 sadly
one a week for 12 hours I can understand its a new game you have bugs I get that but twice a week for huge chunks at a time at the prime time either give us a oceanic sever or have the patches smaller . we want extra time added to our moth please this is just silly

If you and your wife play the game mainly with each other, you could roll a couple of toons on the EU megaserver until it gets moved to Europe. Until then, the latency is the same as to the NA megaserver but different maintenance times.

No dont do it.. terrible Idea.. unless you only want to play TILL its moved to EU.. once its there that server becomes unplayble for Aussies.. as noted in my post above (click the link).. we have no undersea cables to the EU an as such Latency is a killer.. sure right now its good because its in NA.. but once its moved all the time on the EU is wasted because you CANT transfer characters between servers.

I'd bet that there will be at least one maintenance cycle per week over the 7-8 weeks. Especially when Craglorn is released. The game still has a lot of bugs, as expected in a new mmo, and they don't seem to do hotfixes.

If you live in Australia or anywhere in Asia, be prepared to not be able to play this game at least two nights a week during primetime - one of which is a Friday night.

This won't change anytime soon - heck they can't fix the duping, the bots and the dungeon spammers - so it's expectations in the extreme to think they will change the NA maintenance times to suit everyone not in NA (like all of Asia).

agree entirely, calling in from Japan. After a long week of work I was ready to game... 20 minutes in and down until "midday" which so far has meant things aren't working at all so we'll keep stringing you on with "a little longer" for half the day.

it'd be one thing if at least they would say ETA six hours. I'd check back in 4-5. but "midday" is like 10am-4pm for me (I get up after six cause I have a job??) that's a pretty big window..

I guess I just have to plan to not be able to play the game I bought and looked forward to, then I won't be disapointed. =[

That's why I included the phrase "until it gets moved to Europe." Your routing to Europe goes through the U.S. right?

I already cancled my 6 month sub... mainly after i heard about the Duping bug.. seriously that was found during the private beta.. and ZOS was told many times even after launch.. Guild banks should have been disabled right away and not brought back till it was fixed.. sure it would have hurt guilds a little.. but the affect of the duped items will affect the game for many months maybe years.. soo many legendary items out there now.. PvP will be unfair for awhile..

I purchased a game time card so i'm in for three months but if this *** maintenance continues i'm done why would i pay my money for 7 nights a week and not be able to use it for 2..

Say whatever you like i'm done after, the Yanks can have it gold farmers and all..

The potential problem of duping was mentioned during beta although I didn't read about specific instances. The devs must not have done much pve in other mmos because duped items entering the game economy is very demoralizing when you're into raid progression. Preventing duping should have been one of the top priorities.

Friday nite each week the main nite when most can stay up late to play as most don't work saturday and there is a patch.

Please change this to a day Mon-Thursday instead.

I just cancelled mine earlier in the evening. So sick of this.

To those who say "oh but this happens every release" grow some stones and tell developers its not OK to release a half finished game. I would have much rather continued the beta testing than pay $119 for a half done game.

Perhaps we should all send ZOS an invoice for the time we've spent beta testing. That might make them think twice.

As for the maintenance window for Friday, it needs to be moved. So sick and tired of American companies thinking they rule the world and that they are the only people living on the planet.

The trick is to get yourself invested in another game that you can flick to and enjoy whilst maintenance is on (and hope that they don't schedule maintenance at the same time)!

I'm going to do something a bit different whilst the maintenance is running tonight: there's this woman who's been sitting in the room with me for a while. I might go over and talk with her.

Yep Friday is such a bad day no matter where you are in the world.. Public holidays n such are generally always on Monday or Fridays...

Anyway if we can get more people to hit the old Agree or Awesome button in the post below maybe.. just maybe it might get some attention from ZoS... i doubt it.. but you never know.

It's a new mmo so bugginess is par for the course. But the priorities might have been shuffled better in certain cases. Other mmos have gone through the same teething process.

Why not a 12:00pm EDT time slot... down for 4 hours, it will still be up before prime time in the US, and that's like 1 in the morning for Aus... Sucks ass that they chose the time they did, 2 times a week...

Population of Europe - About 730 Million.
Population of N America - About 530 Million.

And yes I appreciate that there is New Zealand and people in Japan etc. However as this is a western MMO I doubt that there are huge amounts of extra players. But lets say for arguement that Oceanic population from which to take a player base from is 100 million.

Now, assuming that the percentage of players from each region is the same then hazard a guess which one is going to get the short straw regarding maintenance times.

Yes, it sucks. But until there is an Oceanic server then you Aussies are, as I believe your saying goes:-

It seems a little strange to me that they haven't considered making the US servers downtime during the EU prime time and the EU maintenance during US primetime. Means that one of their servers would always be online and probably convince some people to buy two accounts.
