• EU megaservers for patch maintenance – December 17, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 17:00 UTC (12:00PM EST)

Getting Error 102 Message

was working fine yesterday,now after the EU maintenance I keep getting error 102 ...unable to load metafile ...

doing repair brings up same message

Any clues as to what this could be please

    Got this from support but I can't understand it at all so is there someone who can put this into english so us none tech savvy peeps can understand it.

    Deleting version files & Repairing (Windows)

    1. Users need to locate their \u201c\The Elder Scrolls Online\u201d or \u201c\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\u201d directory

    a. By default, located at \u201cC:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\u201d or \u201cC:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\u201d

    2. Expand the Game Options menu (Cog wheel located above the News Feed)

    3. If the menu says, Updating\u2026. Click cancel.

    4. If the menu says, Installing\u2026. Restart the launcher, Upon restart the menu should say Updating\u2026 (or Update if auto-updates are turned off). Click Cancel if applicable.

    5. Locate the \u201cDepot\u201d folder. Within that folder, locate and delete the \u201cdepot.version\u201d file.

    6. Locate the \u201cGame\u201d folder. Within that folder, locate and delete the \u201cgame_player.version\u201d file.

    7. If applicable, locate the \u201cVO_EN\u201d folder. Within that folder, locate and delete the \u201cvo_en.version\u201d file.

    8. If applicable, locate the \u201cVO_FR\u201d folder. Within that folder, locate and delete the \u201cvo_fr.version\u201d file.

    9. If applicable, locate the \u201cVO_DE\u201d folder. Within that folder, locate and delete the \u201cvo_de.version\u201d file.

    10. In the game options menu click Repair

    11. If the game disappeared and does not show up as installed before you could click repair

    a. Click install

    b. Wait for data to start downloading

    c. Restart the launcher

    d. Expand the game option, it should say Updating\u2026, click Cancel,

    e. Click repair

    well i sorted the issue without trying to get a decoder for the above..I just deleted the launcher.version file from the launcher folder and it updated and works.
