How to post screenshots?

I have been uploading to an online site then using the Attach Image/File option above to enter the URL of the image. The only way I get it to work though is after I paste the address I have to use the right arrow key to move the cursor back to the front of the URL and then it drops into the message and works. Somebody else might know of a better/quicker way?

From what I can tell, there is no way to directly upload pictures *to* the forum. they have to be uploaded somewhere else like imageshack or a personal website.

As for getting around button issues,
You don't have to use the button if you don't want to. You can just manually type the image url into your post along with the img tags instead of using the button.

As an example, manually typing this:

[img]http://www.tuwr.net/~eso/shoeshine.jpg[/img]

results in this picture:

You can't upload an image straight to the Forum, in order to show a picture in your post it needs to be hosted by a 3rd party website, such as imgur which is the most popular.

Then what you need to do once you have your image hosted somewhere, find the direct link to that picture. It's easiest found by right clicking the picture and selecting "Open Image in new tab". When it opens, copy the URL that's in the address bar for that tab and that should be the direct link. Imgur though will give you a list of links for an image after you've uploaded one, including the direct link which you can copy.

Then in the forum's reply box, you can see along the line of tool icons toward the right end an icon that looks like a picture of a sun and some hills. Click that, then paste the URL into the pop up box. If the URL is good, it'll automatically be added to the reply box inside it's needed code. Clicking "Preview" will also show you if the code is good, by whether the image appears or not. If it does, congrats, you just put a picture in your post.
