i'm pretty tired of all the bugs so far so i'm going to vent and list all the bugs i have found and will find, here.
TL;DR ask yourself if the frustration you feel outweighs the enjoyment you get from playing this game and make your own decision.
lets start with werewolf. wow this "class", for lack of a better word, is utterly disappointing. first the bugs. if i try to leap on any mobs the avatar gets stuck trying to touch the ground and i'm unable to do anything until the werewolf buff wears off. ally buffs skip over you. werewolf berserker doesn't actually speed up your attacks. your ultimate progress will randomly reset to 0, i've seen it do this when i'm running across the zone, when i'm standing in town, when i'm fighting mobs, when i go through loading screens, when i use a wayshrine, when i enter or exit a building with or without a loading screen. it seems completly random
now for the poorly thought out bits. considering how long it takes to get your ultimate to 100 without it resetting to 0 the werewolf buff needs to last more than a mere 60 seconds. thats a handful of mobs at most, and then you're back to grinding mobs to try to get to 100 again. yes, you could devour, however, the time it takes to devour is actually greater than the time you gain from devour. that of course is all contingent on when you actually CAN devour a mob, many bodies break and you cannot. when you change back there is no warning, and you are helpless for the duration of the animation while mobs gleefully beat on you. the entirety of werewolf was obviously never tested fully, i hear similar problems with the vamps. i can only conclude that you rushed to get it in the game for release regardless of major design flaws.
this next isn't so much a bug as a failure to properly distribute quests. i reached lvl 43 as i entered coldharbor. the only quest there is lvl 48. i've fully explored zones as i moved through them, and have done all the quests. yes, i have my hero title. i havent decided yet if i enjoy the game enough to grind dungeons until i can do the coldharbor quest. i ask you this, if the quests run out before you can get to 50, why can we not get access to the other faction zones and quest there? obviously i plan to do both other factions for the quest and skyshard skill points. but having access to them now would give me an option other than simply grinding mobs for 5 levels. which i'm simply not willing to do.
the skill rapid strikes in dual wield is supposed to increase your attack speed. it appears to do the opposite. my swing speed is considerably slower after using that ability.
the bank. ahhh the bank with your disappearing tabs, vanishing items, and stolen gold. i've heard that this is going to get fixed "in a future patch". take that for whatever it's worth. however, the fix will not be retroactive. anything thats gone, is apparently gone for good. while i'm on the bank i would like to gripe a bit about that. there are unGODLY numbers of resources to manage in ESO. cooking alone will stress your storage, let alone anything from the other gathering professions. not to mention the little nick nacks that we're already picking up as trophies and gear for alternate specs. having a shared account bank, while sounding good at first glance removes almost 50% of your possible storage space. you have 8 characters (why is there a limit?) each with an inventory, but only ONE bank that they all must share.
in partnership with the bank is this guild run auction house you've put in. i cannot for the life of me figure out why you would make the AH connected to individual guilds. the only idea that seems even remotely plausible is that you couldn't get the servers to handle the amount of items with the whole mega server thing you have going on. fine, i can live with that i guess, just use 4 of your guild joins to join "trade" guilds and save your fifth for a real guild. but the AH itself is absurdly simplistic. assuming you can even search at all, which you can't always get to work, the search parameters are too broad. we need to be able to search for equip slot, quality, level, name, trait and so on. some of those are there currently. this should come as no shock to you, is this your first time in an mmo? i realize that this is YOUR first MMO, but surely SOME of you have played or at least looked at the others and seen what good idea's the competition has? the AH seems to be another afterthought thrown together at the last minute to make it out for release.
dungeon grouping is turning out to be rather frustrating. "oh look! all that fire on the ground from our archer, isn't that sweet looking?" unfortunately with all the *** on the ground from everyone's abilities it makes it rather difficult to see what the mobs are actually doing. not so big a deal on trash, but boss abilities have a habit of one shotting you. give us the ability to turn off friendly effects or make the combat indicators more visual. other games can do this, so can you. every group i've been in so far has had at least one persons icon grow to huge proportions. this happens often enough that i've had to turn off group indicators completely.
mobs clip to us but not to each other. this makes it extremely frustrating trying to finish off that mob thats almost dead, but 5 other mobs are standing on top of it. this turns combat into nothing more than "spray & pray", sloppy and poorly thought out.
in an aside to dungeon combat, why is there no combat log? how many times have you been sitting there looking at your screen wondering "wtf just happened?" but without a log all you can do is scratch your head and shrug hoping you'll see something different next pull. unacceptable and lazy. the argument that it gives us too much information to use simply holds no merit. you don't have to look at your logs, you don't have to learn or become a better player. if you want to remain blind then simply do not look. those of us who take pride in our skills want to improve ourselves. do not try to hold us back because you cannot achieve more than a participation medal.
quests, innumerable quest bugs that i wont go into here. plenty of threads on those and honestly too many to list. fix the phasing and too many ppl doing a quest at the same time bugs and you'll fix most of them.
the general state of CS. as far as i can tell, it doesn't currently exist. all i've gotten in reply for my problems are form letters. honestly, you guys make SOE look good by comparison. every single fix i've found has come from the community. when i was unable to sign up a sub for two days, it was the players who helped me. whenever the main quest broke, it was the players who had information on workarounds. this is unacceptable for the launch of a new game. do you think hotels don't have extra staff on hand when they expect a large number of people? do you think stadiums don't hire extra staff during the playoffs? every single game launch i've been a part of has failed the community where CS is concerned. not one of you has learned from the past mistakes in the business. this is partly the communities fault imo. why improve if people are still willing to pay for your shoddy product? ask yourself honestly, if you bought a dvd player that had nonfunctional buttons, would you put up with it for months while the company promised to fix it? or simply return it and shop elsewhere?
it's late and that's all i'm inclined to write atm.
