Are you like me. "Old" and hurting in pain all over after years and years of PC gaming? Now that we have played the PC version for a while. Are you as ready as me for the console version?

I am so excited to see how the PS4 version will be. I hope they have not had to sacrifice to much of the visuals on the PS4. Or the XBO for that sake.

Anyone heard anything about a beta for the PS4?

You are of course entitled to have that opinion. I cant say I share it tho. I would if it was not for the new hardware in the consoles and especially the PS4. And that most mmo's now have moved away from having 20+ abilities on the screen to a handful abilities.

ESO's gui is just like Skyrim and that worked on consoles.

The only thing I am worried about with ESO on console is how to communicate. Have they added voice chat for groups etc? And hopefully one can use a USB keyboard for typing.

All in all I am really looking forward to testing ESO on console :)

same here, would've bought it for ps4 too because of lack of good games on ps4 currently. But from my understanding is that your pc account won't be playable on ps4. So you would've to buy the ps4 game+start over again+new subscription.

I like the game, but that's a bit to much money for me ;P

From what I have understood you have to have a own sub for the PS4 version. I really hope they come up with something so that if you have a PC/MAC sub that you don't have to sub again for the console version.

I am fine with buying the game again and starting a new character. But having 2 subs active is not happening...if the console version is up to par the PC sub would have to go then.

That said... PS4 have sold 7 million consoles now. That's a lot in six months! I wonder how many console gamer's are going to buy ESO. Exciting times...I bet ZeniMax Online are nervous

Im not a troll either, but I truly believe that it will fail hard on console.

And Im not talking bugs/technical difficulties only, but the fact that one of the key features of an mmo is communication and coordination, and you get a lesser experience with that on a console.

    MMOs are intended for PCs..sorry.

I'm not a console player but controllers don't provide the quality of control that a mouse does (mouse = high fidelity and high accuracy while a controller has to choose between those). I think that may make it more difficult to play.

But again, I don't play consoles so I could be way off, I just know that, in the past, consoles often had "aim assist" to help them compete.

Communication is a important factor in any mmo. Tho I must say I have never had so little interaction with other players before in a mmo then I have had in ESO. That will most likely change as I get to the higher lv dungeons.

I hope they add integrated voice chat for the console version. If not one have to connect a USB keyboard to the XBO/PS4. Something most people have..so should not be a big issue for dedicated players.

MMO's are coming to consoles in a big way so mmo's are clearly not just intended for PC's.

The new PS4 controller is so precise that fps games like Killzone have no autoaim. And if we keep focus on ESO that is a game that is perfect for a controller. I would go so far to say I actually think it will be a better experience with a controller.

Everything from the gui to gameplay indicates to me that this is a perfect match for a controller. I think it was IGN who used a controller on ESO with some unofficial keymaping software and they liked it better then with a keyboard.

Skyrim was build to cater to the consoles. The gui shows this perfectly clear. The same gui is in ESO and with a very limited amount of abilities in use it would be no problem.

When mmorpg games like Final Fantasy XIV on the PS4 with way more abilities for use works really good with a controller I have even more hope and belief that ESO will be a perfect match on a console :)

Nope, using a controller for any longer than an hour makes my hands and finger sore.
I don't mind games on consoles as they tend to dump a load of cash into the developers to make even better games, but I don't have an ounce of interest in ever using one myself.

Whenever they design a game for both PC and console you can see it in the game design. A lot of users complained about only have 5 skill available at a time and the console port is a part of that "problem". The PC version of any game will always have more options, faster DLC, and more "User additions" (IE User interface mods) that console gamers just wont be able to experience. Don't get me wrong, I have an xbox one, I plan on playing many games for it (Destiny, woot woot) but I decided to go with the PC version of TESO simply because any elder scrolls game is better on the PC both graphically and, again, the ability for the community to edit the game and create content for it (In the form of addons) is just awesome.

I thought about it. But one thing I don't understand how they will handle is in game communication. Will there be a chat box like the one we type in for zone chat? How will that work. It writes out what u speak and u press send? If there isn't a zone chat at all I don't see how anyone will be able to sell or look for a guild etc. has there been an online game that found a way around that before? I don't play consoles much these days

Final Fantasy XIV mmorpg launched on PS4 just a few days ago. And that game has a chat window just like the PC version. You get a alphabetical pad up to write with the controller. I guess they will do the same in ESO.

But we all know that typing like that takes longer then with a keyboard. So I hope they open up the possibility to connect a USB keyboard. And that they add voice chat functionality when you group with people.

Can already use a controller with the PC version, so I don't see the point in a console version, but more power to them.

Console will probably get a flood of casual player purchases. They'll buy it, they'll get bored, and then they'll buy something else.

This could either mean more spending money for ZOS to improve the PC version, or more distraction of ZOS from working on the PC version. Probably a bit of both.

That flip of a coin is the extent of my interest. *shrug*

I'm keeping an eye on the official site for console beta signups. I can't help but be drawn to playing ESO on a 60" Panasonic Plasma, without 2390487324 gold famers crapping out my experience. :D I would just cancel the PC version, buy it again on PS4 or XBox One, and start all over though. I wouldn't have two accounts on multiple platforms running.

I do really hope they implement a USB keyboard chat feature though.

I don't expect ESO will sell nearly as well on console, though, or maybe the box will, but many will cancel once they figure out there is a $15 a month sub fee attached. We PC gamers have been shelling out for years, but them? Not so much. They whine about $60 a year for XBox Live that allows online play of ALL its games, lol.

I think most console players are gonna freak out and quit (or not buy it in the first place) once they find out they have to continue to pay $15 a month for it. Almost none of them are going to know it's pay to play up front, I'll guarantee you that.

They'll think it's the sequel to Skyrim but with multiplayer. Probably most of them will think it's online co-op type stuff like Call of Duty. (Although really, with all the quest phasing, that's not that far off, ROFL.)

I don't see the population for consoles to match that of PC..(from what I understand, consoles..and PC will be separate). Communication will be hampered, Add-ons will be non-exsistant unless implemented by the Devs. And lets not forget the fact that Xbox One and PS4 are still relatively new thus hampering the pop. even more...some would say sales have been strong, yes...but doubt that users will play ESO plus pay the sub. fee. I hope I am wrong and it blows up in a great way. Couple of friends of mine own a Xbox One and want to buy...told them I'm on the fence on purchasing one for myself. Just havent been a game that has been a must-play so far.

I'm really intrigued to see how it plays on the PS4, but if the price of admission is a separate purchase PLUS a separate subscription I'm not sure it's quite worth it. I'd consider it if I had to buy the game for the PS4 but the one subscription covered both, but having to duplicate both costs is too much.

Having said that, if I have a crappy enough time at work some day I'll go ahead and get it just to distract myself and indulge my curiousity. :)

I think Zenimax said you will not have to buy either console's online service to be able to play ESO. You will just connect directly to Zenimax's XBox One-version server if you buy ESO for the XBox One, and you'll connect directly to Zenimax's PS4-version server if you buy ESO for the PS4.

When Final Fantasy XI hit the XBox 360 you didn't have to be a gold member there, either. Microsoft considered it a "closed" title, in other words, acted like it had no multiplayer at all. It didn't access XBox Live at all, but connected directly to FFXI's servers.

I know I read somewhere it will be the same for ESO on the XBox One-- no XBox Live required to play ESO. I can't see how they would demand Playstation Plus for the PS4 in that case. Sony is usually more lenient than Microsoft if anything.
