I mention this because I have recently turned off quest markers and found it increased my enjoyment of the game 100%. Previously I found myself running from marker to marker and I felt like I was 'on rails' and was frankly getting quite bored (I know I didn't have to play like this, even with markers turned on - it's merely psychological, but so is enjoyment). Now with markers turned off I don't care about quests so much, I explore more, craft more, talk to all the NPC's in town, try to get equipment from dungeons and mobs or craft it myself, etc. I feel much more closer and involved with the game and am having a lot more fun.

What have you or the devs changed that has made the game more enjoyable for you? This could be a setting, an add-on, a playstyle, a patch, whatever.

Plentiful/inexpensive lockpicks. When I first started testing they were less plentiful in Coldharbour and cost about 150 gold to buy, if you could find a merchant who carried them. Breaking a couple picking a lock was actively stessful. Now I even attempt Master chests and fuss about gaining too much XP from them.

This isn't exactly the answer your looking for, but i figured I would include it anyway. My experience with MMO's over the years has been so dreadful that I gave up on them and only signed up for beta thinking it was a one time thing and I would never touch the game again.

I would have to say the community, CS and the guilds is what changed it for me. I was lucky enough to be included in Beta fairly early and later in PTS. That forged bonds with other players that made me remember why I loved MMO's once upon a time.

Sadly, a lot of newer players have not seen the side of CS I saw during beta so I know people do not accept how wonderful they are, but when you combine that with the huge social aspect of the guild system being set up the way it is, I did not think twice about purchasing my first ever Sub based game. I still can not say that there is any other game out there that could change my mind so strongly.

That quest marker thing is a good idea!

Mine is convincing my sister to play. In beta, it felt like it was me against the world, since I was the only one of my friends on. Now, I have someone not just to quest and trade with, but someone to roleplay with, or even someone who I can occasionally comment to about funny NPCs or interesting discoveries. It really makes the game far more enjoyable. :)
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

I love that leveling up is easier... when I played the beta it was impossible for me to get up to level 10. I never even got into Cyrodill. I almost didn't even buy the game because it wasn't fun or enjoyable at all. But now I can't stop playing... I love it.

I have never EVER enjoyed questing in a game.. ever. Up until ESO, it was click on quest marker, skip dialogue, and then head in the direction the arrows pointed to complete the quest. In ESO, the Quests are super immersive cause the Quest givers actually look at you and you have a choice in responses for each given Quest. Thats just a change from past games that I've enjoyed overall.

ESO has also brought a change in my play style. Typically I played a caster healer, and thats what I tend to look for in new MMOs. But I accidentally made a Wood Elf Templar vs a High Elf Templar which ended up being for the best. I'm now a bow wielding healer with stamina for dodge rolls and sprinting to evade my enemies. I've never been so in love with a character, nor have I enjoyed playing a character so much. I spend a lot of time questing, but I also spend a lot of time just gathering materials or "hunting" for bait/food ingredients as I feel like thats what I should be doing as a Wood Elf. It's the most fun I've had in any MMO. (:

Probably the removal of DPS addons. All that "min - maxing, you don't pull your weight" stuff is really annoying in MMO´s these days.

People rate people by simple numbers and not their personality, I am so tired of that.

Just slowing down and enjoying the lore, quests and world. I love ESO feels so immersive and interesting I don't even pay attention to what level I am, no other game besides vanilla WoW was like that for me.

    Turned zone chat off.

My enjoyment improved 10 fold without that blight on my monitor.
