Same here, started 3 hours ago.

I've been having freezes and crashes since the last patch in unprecedented quantities. Getting a bit sick of it.

This problem is not caused by adons although disabling/removing them can help I have had this problem since early acces there are a few things you can do that somerimes help none have helped me but they have helped others
    1. set your graphics to minimum .
    2.Delete the zo_ingame,lua found in my documents/elderscrolls online/live(liveeu for eu servers)/savedvariables
    3. update your adobe flash player. I can no longer even create a new char as the error now occurs after 30 seconds of being on the char select screen

Removing ESOhead and HarvestMarkers worked for me.
My ESOhead.lua was 12MB, and I guess this is the reason.

Exactly the same problem. Usually happens when I log out because some crucial NPC doesnt appear on the map. When I try to log back in to refresh him for me, I get the same message. Right now I'm trying for half an hour and still getting the same error.

UPDATE: Turn off you ESOHEAD addon, it crashes the game, check this thread:

Same problem, started happening about 3-4 hours ago. Not even gonna bother contacting CS as I know I will get worthless, possibly asinine responses. I've dealt with them a couple of times already on other issues to my dissatisfaction.

EDIT: Just fixed the issue. I disabled all addons and the game loaded almost instantly. I will continue testing to see which addons it might be.

2nd EDIT: Found the culprit: Esohead/EsoMarkers addon. Game won't load with this addon active, but others work fine. Found a thread that can back this up:
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/80477/possible-slow-load-time-solution

This is 100% true. I had the same problem and disabled that one addon and it loaded immediately.

Only fix for me was using WTFast. I tried everything, from disabling addons, making sure drivers were all up today, they were etc.

The dreaded "An error has occurred. Please wait a few minutes and log in again." occured for me too and now I can't log in any of my characters anymore. I have no addons and I already downloaded the whole client again and still can't log in. It gets stuck permanently on "Logging in - Requesting character load". If I make a new character, I can log in to that normally. Does this mean that cancelling was the right choice since my characters are literally unplayable now? No to mention several bank resets and hundreds of items lost and nothing was done about it...

--edit: I forgot to mention, I let the game run in background if it actually would recover, 1h12min Requesting character load. Load times really suck in this game.

My husband is getting this error or the "an unexpected error has occurred" all today. Not finding any reason why I can log on, but he can't. Getting sick of coming home and spending more time working out the bugs in order to get on and play than playing... and oh boy....looks like my forum name has randomly been changed to add a bunch of numbers after it..... yeah.....getting tired of it all.... just giving up for the night, or the week.... give them some time to fix it I guess...

I've seen this error message every once and a while and now about five times in one go. I've been going back and forth with customer support and haven't found anything to fix it for more than a few hours of game time before it pops up again. I think this must be the replacement of the old "Unknown Error" that someone in marketing thought would be better, but it's rather obvious, if it's not giving an error code, the game is not providing useful information.

I, also, have no add-ons running, nor have I ever.

never had this error before but i got it a bunch of times in a row yesterday. Right before or right after relogging (before the error and after), opening containers with the usual E is really slow/sluggish. Takes 5-10 seconds. Never had this happen before yesterday.

As of today I've had this crash error 4 times, once every 5-10 minutes. In combination with the memory leak temporary freezes and never-ending loading screens the game is simply unplayable atm. I also have no addons except FTC and disabling that brought no results.

    Greetings, mighty adventurer!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team!

I'm sorry to hear you've been having this issue for so long. I understand how frustrating this can be for you, so we'll try our best to assist you.

The first thing I would like you to do is disable any active addons you may have on ESO. Then lower the security settings on your router. To do this, you will need to access a setup utility for your router. You can try opening a web browser and typing '192.168.1.1' into the address bar. If that does not work, you are going to have to find out what your router's IP address is.
I have provided directions for how to do this below:

    Press "Windows key + R".
Type "cmd" as a command, and press "OK" or "Enter" to access the command line.
Type "ipconfig", and you will get the information.

Please note that your computer IP address is IPv4 and your router IP is under the Default Gateway.
Once there, there should be a prompt for a username and password. The following are four commonly used default combinations that you can try (NOTE: If you have previously entered the gateway, you may have setup another combination that you should enter here):
    Username / Password

    admin / password
    admin / [blank]
    admin / 1234
    [blank] / admin

Once you are on the router gateway, navigate to the "Security" or "Firewall" section and set any options to low. These firewalls would be in addition to ones in place on your computer.
While you are in your router, you should forward ports as well that the game uses. On the Port Forwarding screen, there should be a "Add Port Forwarding" or "Add Service" or similar button. Press it and enter the port details. Provided below are the six sets you'll want to create.
    Set One

    Name: ESO Game
    Start Port: 24100
    End Port: 24200
    Protocol: TCP/UDP or "Both"
Server IP: (enter your computer's IP address)
    Enable Port Forwarding

    Set Two

    Name: ESO Lobby
    Start Port: 24500
    End Port: 24600
    Protocol: TCP/UDP or "Both"
Server IP: (enter your computer's IP address)
    Enable Port Forwarding

    Set Three

    Name: ESO Lobby2
    Start Port: 49100
    End Port: 54000
    Protocol: TCP/UDP or "Both"
Server IP: (enter your computer's IP address)
    Enable Port Forwarding

    Set Four

    Name: ESO Lobby3
    Start Port: 10500
    End Port: 13800
    Protocol: TCP/UDP or "Both"
Server IP: (enter your computer's IP address)
    Enable Port Forwarding

    Set Five

    Name: ESO Lobby4
    Start Port: 34600
    End Port: 34700
    Protocol: TCP/UDP or "Both"
Server IP: (enter your computer's IP address)
    Enable Port Forwarding

    Set Six

    Name: ESO Lobby5
    Start Port: 60300
    End Port: 61000
    Protocol: TCP/UDP or "Both"
Server IP: (enter your computer's IP address)
    Enable Port Forwarding

To retrieve an IP address customers can look at these two easy links:
    www.whatsmyip.org orhttp://www.myipaddress.com/show-my-ip-address/
    Windows 7:
    Click on the Start button
Type cmd in the Start Menu
Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter
If it was successful, you will see the message "Windows IP configuration successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache."
If this fails to solve your issue, please reply back to us and we'll look further into your situation. Thank you for your interest in ESO and may Akatosh bless your journeys!

I have cleaned my drive and registry.
Repaired game and power cycled router.
I even tried running with AV turned off.
Drop out every now and then.
I keep moving but everyone is still.
Playing PvP on Thorn at the moment, not sure if that's the issue.
