Support reply - told me to abandon main quest.

So my alt has a main quest problem, so i submit a ticket.

They are aware of the issue and are investigating it.

My understanding of the word "aware" could be wrong.
But when im told "try to abandoning the quest and accept again".. to a main quest..

I just.. i don't know, i would have thought being aware of the problem would mean, they understand.
You can't abandon a main quest.

Benefit of the doubt the support team is trying to get through massive amounts of tickets, and replying is a copy paste.

They copy-paste a lot of replies. It would be insane to write each of the replies by hand.
Still, if they claim they are aware of the situation they are probably working on it. It might get fixed in one of those maintenances that everyone *** a brick about.

Ah, maybe you cannot right-click on any item you got for the main quest and then click Abandon, but you can log off, wait 20 minutes or more and then log back in. That'll reset your character to the outside world, at one of the nearest wayshrines.

I'm not sure if temporarily logging in with another character will break this, though.

If they were aware of those circumstances with the quest, why would they not give other actual fix options?
like: something that would actually work for a main quest.

The quest didn't have a quest item btw, it was to do with an NPC i had to follow, he glitched and didn't wanna move.
I tried everything to get him started, long before i submitted the ticket.

One of the previous patches was supposed to make main quests abandon-able, but it seems like that didn't actually happen.

is it Caldwell? If so, you have to let him pull the mobs or he will not move. /stuck yourself to reset him, and then let him pull the mobs. If it's not him, ignore this.

Yes, it's Caldwell.
Yes, i waited a long time for him to do that.
Yes, i /stuck reset the place.
Yes, i went offline for 20mins to hope it resets.

He just doesn't do anything.
You talk to him and he claps and wants to go.
But there is no chat option to pick from to force him into continuing.

I made the mistake of dropping the main story line quest in coldharbor. Now I have gone from a broken quest that would not allow me to finish the zone and quest line to 50 that triggers main story quest, to no quest, no way to pick it back up (tried everything they suggested, it is gone) and essentially my main character at 48.5 is done and unable to continue. No in game GM support means could be weeks before I could play my main again

Knowing an issue exists and having a solution they can give out to players are two different things. You can't really expect them to have easy solutions just because they know there is a problem.
