Impossible locked chest?

I ran across a locked chest today that was flagged as impossible, and greyed out so I could not try picking the lock. Are there higher quality lock picks I need to find to do this?

Chest difficulty is level based. Go get another level or 2 and you should be able to attempt it.

Why would you even try? It's literally impossible...

impossible means the contents of the chest were probably above your level. Difficulty of the chest lock tends to dictate the quality of the loot inside.

It's quest based. Find the quest that gives you the key to unlock it and presto, it's all yours.

Level up. Your level is too low for that chest. It is to prevent people from going to much higher level zones and getting loot that is way above their character level.

no its not, as several posters have stated its due to your actual physical character level, if you come back a level or 2 higher and see the same chest then it will have changed from "Impossible" to "Master" come back maybe another level or 2 later and then it will have changed down to "Advanced" and so on until it becomes "Simple"
