Maintenance for the week of December 9:

Just stop...

/startRant

People need to realize that you are not the only person playing the game, they have to please a wide range of people that log-in at different times of the day, across different time zones. Just because it is prime time for YOU to play the game, does not mean that it is prime time for everyone else. That includes people in your time zone as well.

You will complain about how you want them to fix this laundry list of bugs and problems, but when they try to implement a patch, "OMG THE SERVER IS DOWN". The time you think they should be doing the maint. is the time that you don't play, well what about the people who play during the time that you don't? We all paid for the game, we all have experienced down time at one point or another. I have a very flexible schedule I can play at many times of the day, and to be honest I have seen the server come down for emergency maint. for 6 hours during one time frame, and then it is up when you come on to play unknowingly that a large portion of people couldn't play, so no I have no sympathy, I don't feel bad for you. Everyone is experiencing the downtime, but let them get through the growing pains, and fix the problems.

Another thing, not to sound like a jerk, but no one cares if the only day you get to play was during a scheduled maint. time. They will not bring the servers down around your life schedule, I'm sure they took a look at server population over the course of a week to pick a reasonable scheduled maint. day/time. It sucks that it is inconvenient for you I'm sure, but you are not there only person they need to please. If it isn't you who has to watch their kids while the server is up and can only play during scheduled maint. then it is someone else. So shut up already, they are doing their best, and what is best for the game. Try showing some support instead of flamming the forums with your bullcrap, You can't have your cake and eat it too, hell half of you probably shouldn't be eating cake to begin with, so take it as it comes people.

Most of the posters on the forum are entirely thinking about their own needs and no one else's.

This is the problem with everyone having a voice on the internet, as most people haven't got the sense of gnat.

Patching is one thing, but they have not fixed the hardware it seems.
Every time they patch the NA Server it takes 4-12 hours more which means they bough some cheap servers and we are paying the price.

Patching is good, using crap hardware is not.

How about people start checking their own hardware and their internet connections? I'm not having as many issues in the game as people rant.

Lol, you are person stereotype type (A). There is no reason for you to post the above what-so-ever. You are not saving the world. You are not changing opinion or challenging stereotypes. This post serves literally no purpose other than to satisfy your own need to sound important and/or 'wise'.

    Unfortunately:

    1. This post (though amusing and sensible) will do nothing to stop the hemmorage of clone rage threads popping up.
    2. This post (though amusing and sensible) can be considered the same as the other rage posts that clutter this overloaded support category.

I completely agree, I would not be shocked to see the same people complaining about ESO server hardware and performance issues, also running the game with min. requirement, or not up-to-date drivers. And when something doesn't work smoothly they immediately assume it must be server issues. Ignorant, selfish people.

  • peechwurmnub18_ESO
Honestly, if the server downtime effects your ability to play this game to such extents that it is knocking out the majority of your playtime each week... then perhaps right now in your life playing an MMO (or at least this MMO) is simply not in the cards for you. This is just a sad fact of life. Not everything fits into our life at a given moment. I work a late shift job. Do I complain that the majority of business are closed at night when I get off work? There's just certain things I cannot do due to my life schedule.

Some people may not have enough money or time to do other hobbies they'd like to do. Some people don't have the physical ability to do things they may otherwise like to do. This is just how things work. You don't have to like it, but you certainly better get used to it or you're going to be a miserable person for a very long time.

If you want to play a game bad enough, or you want to achieve something bad enough, you're going to achieve it. The ESO team doesn't plan downtime around when they can upset the most amount of people.

    Now all that being said...

Those who are effected by the downtime do have a valid reason to let it be known that they are being effected by it (hopefully in a civil manner). This is how devs operate. If there is a problem, they need to know. Feedback, good or bad, is always needed to inform the game developers where to go on any given issue or to inform them that there is indeed an issue at all. This is not the "Come here to post your best experiences in ESO" forum. This is the customer support forum, and that means trouble. :)

Constructive criticism and feedback is one thing. Ignorant, selfish, crying is a complete different story, and which was the target of my post. If people want things noted or up for discussion to be changed, they need to go about it in the right way. Simply throwing a verbal temper tantrum in a forums post about how their mom only lets them play for half an hour and it is during scheduled maint. or that their 2 year old woke up from their nap when the servers came up, is not cause for changing the maint. times, nor is it constructive in any way.

If you are not willing to be helpful, mature, and reasonable then it is likely what you are saying is useless and unimportant.

ZOS is going to keep the state of these forums in a way which is productive to them I would think. So if someones post is too far, too gone, and never going to lead to anything productive at all...then I would hope that such a topic would be locked and/or removed. ZOS has moderators here to hopefully keep the forums in a productive state. So while I'm 100% with you that people cry way too much about little things, there's not much you or I can really do about it. Well...other than doing our best to make sure the next generation of kids doesn't turn out that way. As for changing the hearts and minds of those throwing temper tantrums on the forums....you know as well as I do that the chances of anyone on the internet changing their behavior is slim to none. Hopefully someone in their life gives them a wake up call sooner rather than later.

Why don't you get off your high horse with your holier than tho post ? This is a customer support forum not a fanzine site.

If you don't have any problems then great. Go play the damn game and refrain from telling others what to do. Everything in your post is YOUR opinion on how things should/should not be done. People who are having lots of problems (myself included) post here to try and get some *** CS and let off some steam. If you don't like it then tough - go elsewhere.

To recap. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we don't need people like you telling us what to do. MY OPINION.

EDIT: The *** in this post was actually the word D A M N. Lol. Talk about OTT censorship.

@Drenac ......you said exactly what im thinking! :) I am all about using forums for info, questions or listing issues. But they have turned into a troll fest and a place to cry and that's really getting frustrating.. I wish ZOS would put a stop to it. Gamers can be spoiled brats!!!

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion" ... there for...I...am...entitled to...my...opinion...no?

Again, you can come on here and run your suck about what ever you want to, all I'm saying is there is a large group of people who are hindering the progress of the situation because dev.'s now have to take time out of their day to change some customers diapers and burp them. I am entitled to my opinion just as much as you are. And I not oblivious to the fact that there are problems, problems that need to be addressed and this is the forum to do so, but the manner in which you do so effects the manner in which the problems are addressed. There are support groups for people who can't handle life's problems, I am pretty sure in the job description of the zenimax customer support rep's there is not one single line of text that say you need to be a therapist for people who cant play the game due to THERE OWN LIFE PROBLEMS. When you clicked the I agree to terms of service box, maybe you should have read it first. They reserve the right to take the servers down for maint. when they chose to, with or without informing you first. They have the right to take them down for as long as they want to.

They already did the research on when the least amount of people would be effected by the sched. maint. and chose an appropriate time. It isn't going to be convenient for everyone. It will ALWAYS effect someone. Be a little more realistic with what you want to complain about, otherwise you look like a 14 year old kid who's mom took away their iphone.

"and we don't need people telling us what to do." Don't you think zenimax would have an easier time addressing your *** issue if you tried to be a little more reasonable, and less ignorant and just stated the problem without them having to weed through all the *** about your personal life?

YOU AGREED TO THE T.O.S...you now have to deal with it.

Well, until you pay my Sub then I can say whatever I want. And I cannot log in to play a game that I paid $100 for. So yes, I care about myself and my time. But.. as it seems, thousands of others are having the same problem. So this makes it a big, issue.

The westborough baptist chruch, the ***, and white power groups, they all have the right to say what ever the *** they want too, doesn't mean the manner in which they do so is useful, or even productive. Stand behind the I pay a sub fee, I'm going to cry like a baby when ever I don't like something, and in the end yes maybe zeni will see your point, but you still look like a baby.

People come on here start a post... Zenimax fix my issue or I will un-sub to your game...ya that is going to get you somewhere.

How about, this is my problem, this is what I was doing when it happened, the is the error msg that was given, here is a log file attached to the post so you can look over it, hope this helps in resolving the issue.

Quit white knighting or blaming folks machines.

The game has gotten progressively worse post launch , they were not prepared for the load and it's not getting any better. Before full release , early access was relatively smooth , now the lag and crashes and problems are worse.

Folks machines and connections didnt get outdated in two weeks , ESO's server and network infrastructure can't handle the load.

And their communication is still beyond terrible. Hiding is what is seems like more than anything.

Speak for yourself, as the game has gotten nothing but better for me. yeah a bug here and there, but fortunately, ZOS & my computer specs get along greatly.

There are so many different possibilities of errors, people with so many different PC specs, its hard to even figure out where the error is coming from at times, whether its ZOS's end or that persons computer specs, otherwise this game would be perfect by now. They cant be replying to every single thing every person posts / asks for, otherwise if they did, they'd be talking more than fixing.

then the whiners would be whining about no fixes coming along, its a deadly cycle.

You're blind if you can't admit that the increased load has caused problems , even the company has admitted it. This weekend had emergency maintenance because of it.

Keep trying to white knight , it's a fun game , but only an idiot would say its gotten better technical wise since launch.

Your blind because you think i am putting my blame all on peoples PC specs, please learn to read if your going to call me names :P.

And I was on during that maintenance about the load times, yeah they sucked, sent tells out and they finally went out 20 minutes later, couldn't even get on a loading screen without waiting for 10minutes or crashing.

But honestly, the game works wonderfully for me, your not playing through my PC specs, but i can inform you that after they did that small maintenance that night, ive been golden as far as logging on and off, and my loading screens. I know this game has been improving, as i have been seeing it with my own eyes.

I dont know who died and made you king of opinions, to decide to tell my mine is invalid.
